Joshua I'm sorry!

that is a very nice octo but all i can say insane on the price but everyone knows how much we love to spend on our wants and most times just sit back and watch it for months and send reasonable offers intilll the seller caves in

Well, I wish the seller and the Octo all the best and hope that they enjoy a long and prosperous life together...perhaps I should send them a toaster.

It really disappoints me to see stuff like this, especially coming from a shop owner who's clearly hoping to fleece someone with their infinite knowledge of pricing history. I suppose it's guys like this who "report" sales to Beckett.

I am in no way an expert on Octos (heck, to date, I've never had more than a Triple to hunt down for my project), but given the current market...combined with the sticker factor...and the inclusion of a couple lesser-collected names in Holmer and Flip, I'd personally but a value of about $750 on the card. Perhaps a bit more for the 5/5, given the jersey # factor.

Its a nice card Josh , but still with the sticker i would not NOT!!!!!! pay 750 for it..
Maybe there are some other Wingcollectors left that still pay:rolleyes:
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JOSH AND gratulation to the new Aditions

Thank you, Mario...I appreciate it! :)

I threw in a $500 offer, just to hear what he had to say...he told me that he has been offered 3x my low-ball offer, and countered with a discounted price of $2499. I kindly declined , and advised him that as an annual Wings SOTT collector, I highly recommended that he accept a $1500 offer on that card.

With the release of the Octo this year, it actually puts me at a bit of a crossroads with my Wings SOTT collection. Until now, there had never been an all-Wings multi-player SOTT that had featured more than 3 players. Given that, each and every one to this point has been hard-signed, which has always been something that I have admired the most about the SOTT lineup.

So I don't know whether I should a) continue as a completionist and keep the Octo on the list, or b) keep the collection sticker-free and give it the snub.

no need to rush on this decision. there are 4 other octographs out there so you might still have some luck yet.

maybe one of us can pull one list it on the bay with a 2K bin, and then josh come in and offer $300 on it but agree to buy it for XXXX and the difference be made up on the shipping part of the invoice. that way this guy will have nothing to say

lol

The guy owns the card. He can ask whatever he wants. If it does not sell, that is his fault. No seller has a moral obligation to sell a card at prices a particular collector can afford.

A Gretzky/Messier/Kurri/etc Oilers/Flames octo has been on my ebay watch list for about 2 months (it's probably been there longer) for a BIN of $2000 and it hasn't sold.

This card without hard signed signatures in my mind isn't worth as much as the Gretzky one... despite it being a card of all one team. It's sort of ruined with Filppula and Holmstrom on there.

Meh, just my opinion.

I'd send him the link of that Oilers/Flames one and tell him that if I had to drop $2K on a card, I'd be doing it on that one. He's clearly out to lunch, and he's hoping to club someone.

Nothing wrong with a little fishing on the sellers part. But I think hes going to have as much luck as this guy..............
