JS Giguere retires

or so said a small blurb in my local newspaper. was in the Sports page "transactions" column, said that the Avs announced it.

Kind of figured that may be the case when the Avs traded for Berra last year at the deadline.

I was pretty sure it was his last year when he skated around the ice with Teemu, on Teemu's last game.

Sakic summed it up best.

His achievements speak for themselves, from winning the Stanley Cup to winning the Conn Smythe, Jiggy was always a top-notch goaltender. He was a great goalie I loved watching him when he was in his prime on the Ducks. I remember him crying when he won the Conn but lost the cup. That memory really sticks out to me.

Got to watch him in Halifax and was a fan since. I was happy that he got to play for the Leafs. Sad to see him go but its time.

Always liked Giguere. Still an excellent goalie, even in his later years.
