Just how bad is the mail right now?

And now for something completely different...

Fellow forum member "The Big M" and I finalized a trade yesterday and he sent his end via registered mail yesterday, February 4 from Calgary. I received it today, February 5, in Hamilton.

As The Big M mentioned to me in PM, this has got to be some kind of world record.

Dang now that's fast.

Mail has been moving at a "regular" pace for me. Few more things incoming so we'll see how that goes.

Getting back into collecting and so far from ebay sales, I have noticed that Canada post is all over the place.

Stuff from east coast is getting here in a couple days. Stuff from 2-4 hours away is taking up almost 2 weeks.
Stuff from China gets to BC in a few days, but sits there for over a week after being released by customs.
Had stuff from Kentucky show up in less than 48 hours. Paid $11 for shipping for that one.

At least I am getting it tho. Could be worse.

Sent to Las Vegas February 10th Canada Post tracking and was delivered today.
Pretty good service.

Also sent a tracked to Caledon Ont. February 9th. Wow delivered February 11th.

Regular mail from Ont. seems to be a good 2 to 3 weeks.

Ordered a card from Texas 2/1. It was shipped same day with a tracking number and I still have not received it, nor has the tracking updated.

I had a card shipped from Tillsonburg, ON on Tuesday sent Expedited and it was delivered today to me.

I mailed a package to Brampton, ON (about an hour or more closer to me) sent Xpresspost and it took 2 weeks to get there.

Both went through Mississauga where they say the slowdown occurs.

No rhyme or reason to it all.

lax is a travesty. my package is "delayed" and that's all i know. only positive is that tracking says it is on its way.

Just got my COMC delivery. I did select cheapest shipping method. I made that selection in late November.

But super pumped about the contents

Well, mail was going well for a bit but delayed again. Sent out a package to the US on Feb 11, was moving well until it got to the Jamaica NY International Distribution Centre. Stuck there for almost a week now with no update, not sure what happened as it should have cleared customs according to the updates. A bit premature to be worried as mail is overall still slow so it's probably normal but it's frustrating paying for Xpresspost and it not being express at all. Will opt for Fedex in the future and just pay more.

Mailed a card from Ontario to Quebec on Jan 9th, it was delivered on Feb 18th. About a week and a bit after I gave him a full refund. :(

My package should have cleared customs over two weeks ago and all tracking says is that it's late and stuck somewhere between chicago and the los angeles destination. I googled and there are no explanations, so it's best to assume that the weather/covid/or both are the reasons why the mail is even slower than it was during the holidays for some people.

I have a package that supposedly left the U.S and was last seen at the Jamaica facility on December 10th.

Still hasn't crossed customs.

Yeah, I think weather + covid is hampering and making things inconsistent, I've had stuff delivered in a week and a half this year from Can -> US and now this so who knows. I'm honestly okay with slow, it's the no updates and possibility of it being lost that gnaws at me haha.

Oof. Similar position to me then, Jamaica is pretty backed up then. Hoping we get our stuff soon then

Mailed a grading sub an ebay sale on Feb 15th to NY , cheapest option available with tracking with Canada Post , got there on Feb 19th.

Sales to Ontario same service about 3 weeks.

I just had one come through the same facility, arrived there on the 12th of Feb and arrived to me today.

The mail is just so hit and miss all over the place.

I simply gave up posting my "IFs and WHENs!" and just happy to get something to OPEN. IT just makes my day!
I've read enough tales and it's now "WAIT & SEE"
