I use scans of multiple cards to save listing times.

The card for sale is always clearly stated in the listing title and the description. If the auction is for a lot or a set it is clearly stated.

If anyone wishes for the buyers ID let me know.

Sorry to hear, reading is a lost skill now a days. Are you going to try to have it removed by showing Ebay the auction and pleading your case?

I made the request to the buyer but I doubt they will. I just responded to the negative with my explication.
 
By all means show the buyers response to ebay along with the auction title and description.

I had this happen to me with a single item - but with pictures of 9 cards and ebay removed the negative feedback.
 
When I sold on eBay,I did the same thing you did but I never got questioned on it. With today's climate I'm not surprised someone would go that far on something so silly.That type of personality you hate to deal with period .. lot's of them out there is the sad part
 
Reading comprehension is a lost skill these days. I know people can get confused with multiple cards in an image but those listings often have plenty of disclaimers and words to show which card you actually are buying. It's just not an excuse to be confused if it's spelled out for you.

Sorry to hear you got a negative for that, I hope eBay can fix that situation for you.
 
That sucks. The only option you have now is to bait him with another “multi card lot”. Then when you are preparing the package you must push a fart into the bubble mailer. Then when the sucka opens it he’ll get more than he bargained for! Hopefully his mouth will be open!

It's his fault, not yours. You did nothing wrong.

However, I do believe that an ebay listing should only include photos of the card listed in the description.
 
The other day I listed a card. Not really that high end of a rookie. I mean, the less you fool with a card the better right? I had someone ask me to remove the card from all protection, take pics of the front and back of each corner, and very specific questioning about the surface, etc. I tried my best without removing from the sleeve as this can sometimes make a corner worse, and then got a response of "so if this card doesn't come back gem mint can I get a refund?"

It's becoming too much.

Another story, guy wins an item and starts sending me very specific instructions about the packaging. And I mean step by step what I need to do, and he's been in the industry 30 years, blah blah blah. Like I'm a child!!! So i send the item and get a message a few weeks later....

"I specifically asked for you to use green painters tape and you used masking tape. I'n all my years of buying/selling I have never had a complaint against me, and if you don't want one against you I suggest you follow my rules on how to ship!"

Can you send me his Ebay ID so I can block him, after I buy something from him and make some absurd packing and shipping requirements.

Funny, I've been getting tons of stuff in lately with pantiers tape and wondered what the big deal with it all of a sudden was.

Is that their actual statement verbatim or were you paraphrasing? I couldn't hit send on something like that personally.
 
Not to side with the buyer, but doesn't eBay have explicit rules against using group scans or pics for this very reason?

On a related note, I had a complaint/refund request once YEARS ago when a buyer purchased a copy of a Pokemon Gameboy game which was pictured grouped with several other Pokemon games. I got a message from the buyer stating that his son bid on the auction thinking he was getting every game pictured (even though the auction and title clearly stated otherwise) and actually accused me of being a pedophile trying to lure kids thru nefarious auction means and threatened to report me to the authorities. I kid you not.

That being said, glad to hear that eBay removed the negative feedback. But you may have gotten lucky on that one.

I went looking after this and all I could find was this.

What is the policy?
The following are not allowed:

Photos that don't accurately represent the item
Placeholder images used to convey messages
Stock photos for used, damaged, or defective items
Photos with added borders
Photos with added text, artwork or marketing material
Watermarks of any type, including those used for ownership attributions


I suppose the bold part could be interrupted that way but nothing I can find says you cannot use a photo with other cards or items pictured.

I am trying to list with only the card(s) for sale going forward to avoid this.

I have always thought that if you showed other cards you had for sale it might lead to multi purchase, especially with the lower end stuff I am selling for the most part.

Dude, I feel sorry for you. I am sorry that people are stupid and are not mature enough to take responsibility for the stupid stuff they do. I am in a field that is very professional but whole sh—…some of the smartest people are also the dumbest.
