Kings send down 4, 2 surprising

Not too surprising. With the exception of Bernier, gives the other three more time to develop. I imagine that Bernier going back has to do with a thin goaltending situation in Manchester.

the only one im surprised at is westgarth after they signed him for 3 years over the summer(and i don't like ivanans too much haha). otherwise schenn looked pretty good, but don't think anyone ever even thought he would make it this year and hickey i wouldnt be surprised to see him later in the year based on injuries. think that martinez fella is going to be there only until odie comes back from his suspension(which i loved the way he earned it going after the dude ) no need for hickey to be playing 6/7 dman minutes in LA when he can play top pairing in manchester.

clay- i dont know if its thin in manchester, but at least zatkoff will be there who is pretty good, but its his first year in the AHL after being in ontario last year so who knows how they will do.

can't wait to see what they can do this year :D

I think they'll make the playoffs provided both Quick and Ersberg stay healthy. They were on the doorstep last year and it's good to see the team building depth in Manchester. Can't wait for the season to start!

I really thought Bernier was gonna be on the team, I watched him play at a preseason game and he was awesome, then I listened to last nights game and ersberg didnt do so well allowing 5 against the ducks. When bernier played the ducks last week he allowed just 1

i don't think it would be good for him to be playing backup to quick though which is probably why he is in manchester. he needs to be playing every day to keep developing if he really is the future of the kings(im still high on quick though and like the guy who doesnt keep crying every time something doesnt go his way) i went to the game last night and ersberg didnt give up all 5, they split the game almost 50/50 and ersberg(VERY unimpressive though) gave up 2 while bernier gave up 3.

clay- if quick can play the same as he did last year or even better for the whole year no doubt i think they are in as he is the key IMO(and i am stoked to see it!). they were close last year and that was with half a year of the crap officially none as jason in net.

even if they arent winning every game, they are going to be very competitive and don't think other teams will look forward to playing them.

lets go :kings:

Wish I had that kind of faith but neither are first line NHL goalies at this point of their careers. Kings may battle for playoff spot but without a real first string goalie (Fernandez) they may be out of it by November 1 considering they play 13 games between Oct 3 and 31.

i know you've never really believed in quick, but fernandez?? come on! id rather have quick than manny any day to start for the kings.

oct 3 is coming

We're expecting big things from Teddy this year here on the Rock.. Love to see him make his mark in LA

I'm open to other FA goalies beyond Fernandez but the cupboard appears bare unless you want Cujo.
Quick's #'s don't work for me. 21 wins in 44 games in 08-09 does not get them to the playoffs.
