Kolzig Show

Before the 2013-14 season kicks in, I want to show off my Olaf Kolzig additions from 2012-13. It has been several years since I have had this many Kolzig cards to chase in one season. A big thank you goes out to Dr. Price (and Panini) for including Kolzig in so many sets last year. Kolzig is already in the Score Recollection Collection this year, so if anyone comes across the Score Canadian version please let me know! This post leaves me with 15 cards to go until I have one of every non-1/1 Kolzig card ever produced. I was happily surprised to see Kolzig show up on the Panini Classics checklist. Here are the base and auto cards. I love the pic with the Uncle Sam mask!

That brings me to my top 3. Before 2012-13 I think I went a whole year without knocking any older cards off my list. This year I was able to knock three huge cards off – all three were cards that I had never seen a copy available for sale since I started collecting Kolzig multi-player cards eight or ten years ago.























3. 2001-02 Parkhurst Teammates /30

2. Before this past season I only had two cards left to find from one of my favorite sets of all time – 2001-02 SP Game Used, but they were big ones. I was very excited to find this one without “Kolzig” in the title. Now I use the description search function much more often!

I love the SP GUE, what did that dual auto patch run you if you don't mind me asking? Those cards fetch some serious money due to their rarirty and high collectibility.

Always nice to see another goalie collectors pickups! Those last three cards are incredibly rare! I still need two Maxime Ouellet duals from 01-02 SPGU for my own collections. Very nice additions!

LOVE this show and tell and not just for all the cards but because Kolzig's son Carson, like my son Austin, is on the Autism Spectrum.

He's a big advocate for research and help for children afflicted and I admire his work for that AND in the nets.
