Kovalev to Sens

is there a Heatley deal coming soon? Even if this is a 2 million dollar deal, Ottawa is close, if not over the cap or am I incorrect
 
Heatley is definitely in play. I doubt Murray would sign any impact player without knowing if Heatley plays for them this year
 
Now... to get Heatley out for some secondary scoring. This won't mean playoffs or anything close, but it finally adds some legit scoring options other than Spez-Heater-Alfie. I would've liked to have seen Hossa back, but not with Heatley's contract still on the books...
 
I like the signing as long as Kovy buys in. When he's on, the guy is amazing. However, when he's off, it's like watching paint dry...

This is pretty much the universal feeling. I remember watching him a few times and being thankful he didn't play for my team because he would drive me berserk on a nightly basis.

Well, consider if Heatley takes the Edmonton offer. Then you have two legit top lines in Ottawa.

Penner-Spezza-Alfredsson -don't laugh, Penner put up good numbers with Perry and Getzlaf, he would light it up with the two top line superstars
Cogliano-Fisher-Kovalev - not sure how well they will all play together, but that is three pretty talented guys right there.

If Heatley actually does decide to take the Edmonton deal, then Murray has found something that Sens fans have been screaming for for years, some depth at scoring. Good signing Ottawa.

He is a hard guy to get on board with, he has sooooo much talent but lacks the drive! Hope the change in scenery motivates him....

Seriously - would you rather have Kovalev at $5mil or Heatley and baggage at $7.5mil - I would find a way to deal with the luggage.

but paint doesn't go end to end against ALL of the opposing players, dangle like nobody's business, run circles in the other end, and then.... :D

What I liked most about Kovalev was that every goal he scored was a highlight goal. Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good to justify skill.
 
big mistake they got rid of hossa in the first place. now ottawa is paying for their stupidity big time.
hossa could not beleive, that he was traded. he was hurt by that trade, and now he is laughing, thats all he can do. just laugh, cause heatley is pain in there. thats what they deserve. you don't treat your superstar like that. never. and if you do, you gonna pay for it. karma. :)

Just got home, kind of in-different about this deal, he's a good player when he wants to be, but at 5 mil for the next 2 years...Might be a bit much. Heatley is definatly on the move now, whether to Edmonton or elsewhere, he won't be here now.
