Kronwall out at least 6 weeks

Big bummer as Kronwall was ready for a big breakout year!! Though it could have been worse and he could have missed the whole season.
As far as Quincey making it I think he's behind Delmore and Jamie Rivers on the depth chart though he scored again last night so who knows!!

After my post I checked the depth chart and realized they were still deep at D, I also saw that he had scored and was surprised he was still in camp.
 
Thought it was talking about the Leafs' Kronwall and almost got excited... Not that I would ever wish injury on another player, but it's the Leafs, so it's okay.

As for Quincey, I would put him ahead of Rivers on the depth chart, maybe even ahead of _elmore (no D)... Him and Ryan Stokes always impressed me when they were playing for the Ice Dogs here and I think both of them will be solid blueliners in the NHL.

It would be nice to see Quincey get some NHL action :). Stokes should be playing for Houston in the AHL this year, lots of Missy fans didnt like the way Stokes played and didnt even think he deserved a contract with an AHL team.

They both were big pieces of the D corps for the IceDogs and I too hope they do well. Do you go to many Dogs games during the year?

That's surprising about Stokes, I was a huge fan of his hard-nosed play, especially in the playoffs a couple seasons ago. Definitely something the 'Dogs benefitted from.

Went to 10ish or so games last season, and about the same before. I try to go to the games vs teams like London, Kitchener, Soo, Guelph, etc. so I can see alot of the top prospects display their wares. Was a big fan of watching Richards & Carter, even if they were putting pucks in the Mississauga nets. ;)

I liked the way Stokes played as well, I think he was a big part of their playoff run two years ago.

The year before last I went to about 10 games during the regular season and missed only two of their home games in the playoffs. I plan on watching some teams I havent had a chance to watch this season. I usually go on Friday nights and thus didnt get to see too many of the top prospects, but still cheap and entertaining hockey :).

Best hockey in town with the NHL on hiatus. I've only missed 1 playoff home game in the last few years, it's ALWAYS entertaining... Except the one time, I went to empty myself of the 3-4 brews I'd consumed really late in the game and missed Voroshnin's game-tying goal against Ottawa. Got to see them pump home the winner in OT though. :)
 
I didnt really start following them closely until about two years ago, although I went to a game when Cherry was behind the bench for the Dogs. It was great during the playoff run, the place was packed, although the fans could have produced more noise. I saw a few game 7's and some OT games, thrilling to say the least. Watching Patty O certainly was a treat, their younger players certainly need to step up for them to have a chance at the playoffs this year.
 
Agreed... You'll see Cody Bass play a huge role in the team's offense and obviously Ouzas will have to string together some Shantz-like performances. If both those guys step up and get some decent support from the rest of the team, they should be alright for playoff contention. Likely a lower seed, but they'll be there.
 
I was a big supporter of Shantz and hoped he would continue to lead the team through the next few years, but it didnt happen. Hopefully some of the younger goalies in the organization develop, but none of them look like hot prospects at this point.

Agreed Bass will have to start putting up some more offensive numbers this year, along with the likes of Owens and Jefferey. BTW http://www.rinkratmag.com/noof.html is a great forum for OHL talk, if youre interested.
