KSA Grading: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

Just wondering if anybody has experience with KSA Grading. Here is there website:

I am scouting a potential pickup of a vintage KSA graded card... but don't have any knowledge of the company and its reputation.

Hoping to get some valuable feedback here.

Can't help you with what you are looking for. Just wanna say that, I am never gonna lay my hands on anything that doesn't say Beckett on it. Always been sceptical to PSA, KSA and rest of the gang.

The hobby standard has become BGS, which is sad, really. I have submitted cards twice to Beckett and have had bad experiences both times. KSA, on the other hand, has provided me with great service all three times I have used them. And IMO their grading standards are slightly more rigid than Beckett. If you've got a KSA 9 or 9.5 card then you can be sure you've got yourself a mint card.

Thanks Ryan. The card in question is a KSA 6... since it's a very old vintage card. What would you equate that to on a BGS/PSA scale?

The card has nice color and decent centering... no creases... but it does have rounded corners (as most do).

I haven't seen too many BGS vintage graded cards, but if it's a KSA 6 you can be sure that it's at least a PSA 6. More than likely it would have another 1/2 grade.

I have had hundreds of cards done by Rick at KSA.He is honest and does what I believe to be a great job.The biggest problem with his cards in the market place is that his company is a Canadian operation.With the people in the U.S. being a very large part of the market place.Although it does appear easier to sell hockey cards graded by KSA than it does to sell any of the other sports.If you are thinking ahead to resale than probally Beckett or PSA is the way to go.But if any one thinks that Beckett Grading Service is not a conflict of interest than you are only fooling yourself.Must be great to operate a business where you convince the sport card collecting world what their cards are worth.Than on top of that when the grading card
world takes off,you start your own grading service so that now you can make the prices indicate that your new service is superior to anyone elses and that the cards graded by you bring in more money.Oh the power of the printed matter.Just my thoughts.
