Larry Walker retires!

I'm not much of a baseball fan, but hearing this announcement is kind of surprising.

he was a great player and could still play at a high level, but his body just wont allow him to do it

He had a great career. Possibly a shot at getting into the Hall in the future. I'm not to surprised that he's retiring because of all of the time he missed last year and his age.

Larry Walker was a great hitter and yet another guy to come up through the Expos system only to be traded away due to salary. My funniest story with Larry was a few years back he was walking into the stadium signing autographs (larry cuts a quiet one) and Larry says what that smell? He told us I don't know who did that but I am done signing---well Larry it was you and I don't know what crawled up you and died but that was a impressive fart!!! anyways Larry was great on and off the field. jason
