I needed a bit of a break after this last expo - shout outs to everyone that I caught there this year: Trish, The Steve's, Frank, Gary, Ryan, Jordan and his Dad, Rod, Tim, Darren, Phil, Wes, Tom, Erik, Nick, Jeff, etc.

The show was a blast as usual. Outside of the expo I won the worlds worst Poker Pot (Chistov Jersey anyone??). Cam Ward's SPX RC seemed to be the hot seller of the show, with virtually every dealer asking me if I had one. Ryan Miller Premier RC's also seemed to be in demand, as well as RC's from the usual suspects.

The price on UD Series 2 and Beehive boxes fell as the show went on - Beehive was as low as 45 bucks by Sunday, and UD2 was as low as 55 bucks per Hobby Box. A bit more on that later.

ITG was set up as usual, so I figured I may as well crack open some product.
2 BAP Update Sets yeilded:

Adam Hauser 3 clr Gold Number /10
Matt Corrente (sp) Autograph

the Hauser was a pretty nice pull, Cornette (whatever his name is) may be a good CHL D-man, but I don;t have a ton of faith in his hobby potential.

1 Box Heroes and Prospects 2:

Lauri Tukkonen Autograph (Kings 1st rounder)
Alex Grant Autograph (1st Overall QMJHL pick)
Dave Bolland 2 clr Jersey (Long gone)
23 points and a bunch of Hot Prospects cards, including Ovechkin, Crosby, Esposito, etc. Not too bad of a box - BOlland was very easy to move, while Grant will be a future NHL regular (and current St. Johns favorite) On to the show stamps!

Pat Lafontaine 2 clr jersey
Brandon Bochenski 3 clr Sens Emblem

Since Upper Deck Series 2 Hobby Boxes were cheap I gave one of those a shot:
Majestic Materials: Roenick /50
Rookie Threads: Vanek, Ward
Rookies, Carter, Coleman, Jokinen and 3 other guys who will be hard pressed to make any impact in the NHL. The box wasn;t too bad - I really liked the Majestic Materials Jerseys.

My luck would get better. With the price of Beehive falling like crazy during the weekend (it started at around 60-65 bucks friday morning), I figures I may as well give it a shot. Aside from a bunch of RC's (Best ones were Crosby and Richards - Both gone) Reds (Best one was Phaneuf) Blue's (Best one was Crosby) and Jumbo's (Perry, Ovechkin and a badly damaged Crosby). However, luck was definitely on my side with the Expo Beehive Breaks:

The Carter Gold Beehive Back came from box 1 with the crosby RC, while the Howe Scrapbook came out of box 2, and the Jumbo Howe came from Box 3. Of course, I opened a box today and get prettymuch nothing as far as big pulls, but the run was fun while it lasted.

I grabbed a few nice looking 55-56 Parkies for my set (Finally made it over the halfway point) as well as a couple RC's of Pominville and Kunitz. Of course, if there was a deal to be had on any of Jeff Carter's cards, I scooped them up:

The SPGU Auto and the Victory Black were Ebay snipes, while the other three were mine for fairly cheap at the expo (A BIG thanks to Q for the Carter Ultra Patch 17/25!!)

To close out the weekend, I added a couple 1'1s to the collection:

Joe Thornton Yellow Plate, Jeff Carter Cyan Plate

Big thanks again to Q for the Carter, while I was able to get a very good price on the Thornton.

Now to build up the cash for November!

Awesome to see ya John.
It's not hard to see me there ;) :D

Awesome swag. The Big Joe plate was a fave of mine, but the way you pwn3d Beehive with the Gordies was truly inspiring.

haha,
I was guilty of the same :D

Sweet pickups.
and awesome box breaking on the beehive.

Fantastic additions! Beehive treated you really well I see... nice Carter beehive back. Those are harder then people realize

Once I mentioned I lived in NB for a few months he became ridiculously easy to deal with!

John, very nice haul of goodies.

The 1 of 1 plates are obvious, but I really like your Gordon Howe pulls from Bee Hive. Nice job there are those HARD-signed bad boys! :)
