Leaf Stickwork Stick Dislodged Question

Hey everyone, looking for opinions here. Got this card in a trade. I know the trader would not have sent it out this way and not looking to send it back to them. I would just put some glue and affix the stick back to the card but I do not want to break the Leaf seal.



I did not pull this from a product so I do not expect Leaf to fix it.

What would you do? I do not collect Bishop so I will not be keeping the card. Would you keep it as is, or break the seal and fix the stick?

Most of the ones I've have/had the same problem. I've left them alone as I'm not doing any of the sets from the issue. I am collecting the Enshrined Exhibit cards which are also Leaf sealed, after reaching just a few to finish the set I carefully pulled the Leaf tape up from the back without breaking it to remove the cards. I did reattach the tape to the back of the top loader in case I ever sell the cards & the new owner wanted reseal them. The look sooooo much better in a Mag holder. If your keeping I would fix, if your selling leave it alone, it's a known problem & chances are you may damage the card.

I had that same issue with 2 cards each in my 2 boxes . I removed the label ( don`t think they look good on the card ) , and fixed the problem with glue . I did not plan to move the cards so had no problem with removing the label .

Same for me... all the Leaf Stick cards I have are "unglued"... perhaps Leaf needs to purchase some Gorilla Glue...

Leave it as is. The stick piece isn't going anywhere. As a buyer, I would prefer the seal to be untampered, so the card retains it's authenticity. Break the seal and you open yourself up to questions of whether or not it is actually Bishop's stick.

You should be able to remove and re-apply the leaf seal pretty easily. My biggest peeve with this product was the rattling stick pieces, and the "leaf label" not sticking to the top loader after purchasing a few boxes at release.

Taking one of your friend's ibuprofen pills from an opened container vs. buying one with the tamper proof seal missing.

You wouldn't think much of the former unless something jumped out at you (weird patch), but the latter causes warning.

Since Leaf/Itg has produced some amazing patch and stick cards over the years, i dont think anyone would doubt a card that sticks out by looking good. I wouldnt take it out tho, perhaps if you could send it in instead and let them do the job and seal it again would be better.

The card is not overly valuable and if I was going to keep it I would open it and do it myself. I just don't want to pay to fix it and I don't want to break the seal for resale purposes.

I guess I will just have to be honest with whoever wants the card in the future to make sure they are aware of this Leaf/ITG known issue.

There were some issues with the adhesive from our first year of Stickwork. The honest answer is that many of the sticks cut prior to us taking over were cut a bit too thin. This isn't the old regimes fault because they were cut to their specifications and it worked. For us, our construction windows were too large and it gave some sticks a change to bow and eventually pop out. having said all that, you can ship the card back to us and we can attempt to fix it. We did rectify this situation with Lumber Kings and will do the same with upcoming 2017 StickWork (April.) I don't see a issue with removing the sticker. For us is was more so the cards do not come out of the top loader during pack-out, not a security issue. Throw it in a one touch. If anyone has an issue if you resell, they can contact me.

It has nothing to do with UD/Topps/Panini.

It's about perception. The Leaf cards come in a sealed top loader. If the seal is broken and the card removed, it begs the question as to why? It is no longer in it's pack pulled form, you have now essentially tampered with it. You may have done so for legitimate reasons, but a buyer has no way of verifying that, and as such, may err on the side of caution.
