Here's from the usual source: tsn.ca... LINK

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Bryan McCabe is considering altering his position on his no-movement clause.

"Bryan is starting to think about possibly getting his career started somewhere else," Maple Leafs general manager Cliff Fletcher told the Toronto Star.

"We'll leave him alone. He's going to get back to us in a couple of weeks. There's not going to be any issues. I'm really confident it's going to be resolved amicably before training camp," Fletcher told the newspaper.

He's like the obnoxiously drunk uncle at your New Years party who knows he's not welcome, is a handicap to everyones enjoyment of the party, but he sticks around anyways for his own entertainment and FINALLY leaves at around 4 AM, approx 5 hours after everyone else wanted him to go........

How exciting!!!!!!

We were hoping for this...McCabe has to go. He has no future in a rebuilding team and he knows it. Hope a deal is reached soon

"getting his career started somewhere else'" I didn't think McCabe was young enough to actually start his career over again. Thats a good one from Fletcher if those were his actual words. Maybe hes trying to trick some GM into thinking theres lots more left.

One of the perks of being a fan of a small-market team: you never have to worry about picking up a crappy, over-priced player.

Unfortunately for Islander fans ,I think that is where he wants to go.

I believe he claimed he would waive his no trade clause to go to the island but the Maple Leafs wanted to much for him and that's why a deal never got done. So I'm assuming he's headed elsewhere, although I don't know who would want to take on that contract.

There saying the Leafs might be adding another player. Hopefully they will get more then Van Ryn back if they are in fact adding another player. Im in favor of trading Mccabe but im not to excited over this deal... Van Ryn is 30 and makes 3.33 mil? and is just another average d-man. I think we have enough d it would be nice if we could add another younger forward.

I think Mccabe will do good in Flor lastyear was an awful year for him but he was still a -2 on a very bad Leafs team and logged a ton of minutes. Most ppl hate him now but the fact is he is not as bad as ppl make him out to be. It's going to be interisting to see how this plays out.
