Leinart stays with USC!

It's hard to believe that in this era that a kid would stay in college with his stature and the money that would be thrown at him if he went pro. Props to him for remaining in school and enjoying the college environment and his teammates.

I hate it, now the cowboys have a bad chance at getting aaron rodgers or alex smith unless they trade up

Surprising to me that he would make that decision. Risking millions to follow his heart? Doesn't make too much sense too me.

I don't understand it...his value can only drop in the draft and he could make some top dollar money right now being the #1 Pick. Eli Manning made a 20 million dollar signing bonus..imagine what the niners would give him.

Maybe he values an education and has had values instilled into him from his parents. I am sure he has a very big insurance policy. Does anybody know what's his major? I respect him for making the unpopular decision.

I don't understand this at all!...Why would he do that? He just had an incredible year..won the heisman trophey...not a smart decision IMO

Give the 49ers your #1 ,#2 and #3 picks and you got their #1 overall pick.

I whole-heartedly agree. Big loss for the 49ers...would have been their pick if they kept it....could have had multiple offers from other teams for their #1 pick overall. Now the #1 overall pick will be ??????

My guess would be Aaron Rodgers.

Wow, definitely surprising. It's refreshing to see a player want to establish a legacy more than a bank account.

But man, won't we all be holding our collective breaths during every play of his in the '05 season? One bad hit and goodbye $$$.
