Leino to Sabres

You know what? I like the signing. Strengthens the forward ranks and I would HOPE means they're going to buy out Hecht and/or Kotalik.

Cap hit is a touch on the high side but Pegula is making moves and I like it. I think the additions of Leino, Ehrhoff and Regehr to a solid group of youngsters makes Buffalo a dangerous team.

This is one of thosesignings where I could say he is supposed to earn it, but he just isn't ready for that price. In his prime maybe, but he is like what, 23. Wait till 27-29 to give him that money. He is good, but not GREAT.

owerpaid...watch him coast like every other European who signs a huge long term contract....he's good just not that good....

I like it! I wonder if this signing means that the Sabres don't think Brad Richards will be coming...either way welcome to Buffalo Leino!

What he said! I agree with everything, and really hope they buy out Hecht and Kotalik, we have no use for either of them.

This makes very little sense seeings how we have Vanek, Hecht, Ennis, and Gerbe already as LWers...a trade must be coming that's all I can think of.

Hecht getting bought out is more likely. They've been talking about it all summer and it'd be long overdue.

He will be 28 when the season starts.

You know what I like? An owner in Buffalo who wants to spend some money to help the team win! Wish there were more owners in the league like that!

It's an alright signing, it's the same money that Laich got from Washington, is it a bit high for the production, probably, but lets be honest he's not Martin Lapointe.

way too much for this player...should have been no more than 2.5 per year cap hit, and even that is on the high side.

I have loved Leino since he first came to the Flyers, and as a die hard Sabres fan I am very happy. Leino will do well, sure we overpaid a bit but I'd rather have him at that hit then connolly. I have also read he prefers playing Centre so we will see where he fits. Terry Pegula has injected money and hope into the Sabres. I am more excited for next year then I ever have been prior.
