Limited Logo's - Very weak patch selection.

Limited Logo's used to be one of the nicest sets out there but this year the patch selection is very poor. I have seen many patches that are one colour or patchs from the number.

Here i an example of a Kulemin "Limited" Logo patch..it certianly isn't limited.

Other manufacturers don't use 1-color patches?

Is Upper Deck supposed to dispose of the 1-color patches?

agreed... and i'm not making fun of you or the Leafs. colors are very limted as it is on a Leafs jersey.

Colors may be limited on a Leafs, Wings, or other teams jerseys but for the kind of money that the Cup costs, you would think a little care would be given to a staple set such as the Limited Logos. I don't expect UD to toss out one color patch pieces but considering how many patch sets they put out each year, those could easily be used in a product like SPGU. I think a set like Limited Logos, due to its popularity, the price point of the product it is in, and simply the name of the set, a better selection of patches should be used.

I have to say I am really disappointed in the Limited Logos this year, but it has nothing to do with the patches. I just think the design is butt ugly compared to previous releases. Just my 2 cents, though.

I have several one colour swatches on ITG cards I could show you... even the acclaimed Glove and Pad cards from BTP are often one colour... it isn't UD's fault that the leafs have essentially the most bland uniform on the planet... blue pyjamas with a couple of white patches on them.

The logos this year are a letdown from previous years... 06/7 is still the best by FAR, last year's were pretty good as they still had nasty emblem pieces... check out the LL in my sig for an example of a "3 colour" patch this year...

This one does dispute the theory that 08/9 LL's suck, though:

I think the blame should be shifted to the teams that use uninteresting logos. Also, if you would like to see the end of one-color patches, you should lobby to you favorite teamn to start using multicolored letters and numbers.

Don't blame UD for the amount of boring patches. If you want them to throw out the one-colors, be prepared to pay much more for product than you already do. If you want them to only use them in lower end products, then consider how that will reduce their demand and then UD will need to make extra margins on the Cup and other high-end product.

If you want them to use certain patches in certain products, perhaps you have no idea about the logistics invloved in launching 20+ products per year, especially in a downturn economy.

Also, consider the impairment to the value of all the nice patches currently in existence if all they used were sick patches.

Check out this beauty! One color patches are one color patches - they aren't going anywhere - as mentioned above, there is only so much that UD can do and throwing stuff away isn't going to benefit anyone.

I think Upper Deck should follow the theme of the subset and actually use bloody LOGOS. If I want a patch card, I'll buy a patch card. I know you all would be pissed if you pulled a NHL Shield card with a one colour patch, wouldn't you? These logo cards are so nicely designed, but the fact that they contain pieces of patches and not logos is a bit off-putting.

I agree 100%. The biggest issue with this year's Limited Logo set is the disgustingly high amount of NUMBER/NAME patches being used in a LOGO set.
