I posted this on Beckett to get a bunch of input, and want to post this here now to see if I can clean this up a bit. If anyone knows of any of the cards on this list existing, let me know -- similarly, if anyone has any others that don't seem to be out there, let me knos as well.

Also, Gagne has been mentioned as perhaps not existing, but I really want to stray from putting a /12 card on here... it very well could still be buried somewhere.

Andy, I am not sure about the rest, but I have been checking every few days on the bay for a Straka #/82 and I have never seen one, so I figure since there is supposed to be 82 of 'em they must not exist. Mike

As a Jere Lehtinen collector, I have been watching the market for a Lehtinen Notable Numbers card for weeks now, but I have not spotted one or heard of its existence. Since there should be 26 out there, at least one of them should have popped up somewhere by now, so I assume it does not exist as of yet.

Upper Deck might have a bit to do with it. They initially listed Lehtinen also as part of the 05-06 UD Powerplay Marks autograph set on their website, but I've also never seen it or heard about it. Beckett never listed this card in the OPG, but then again, the Notable Numbers is listed:confused:

Both sets are 05-06 Upper Deck products. Perhaps something went wrong with the cards (Powerplay Marks and Notable Numbers) Lehtinen was supposed to sign (they got lost or they were not returned in time). Any inside info from Upper Deck would be interesting.

Bumping this up 'cause I could still use a hand with this... especially with the last part about contacting UD. Sarcastic anti-UD sentiments need not apply :)
 
Hmmm...torn on the Jason Blake. One side of me says it is nice to know that I can scratch it off the wantlist and now not worry about finding it....but then again, it would have been nice to have another cool autograph card of his for the collection :(

Givin' this thread a bump. According to Steve (Quincy), UD has reported tentatively that indeed, the bolded cards in the checklist I made above DO NOT EXIST.

Big thanks to Steve for helping out with this!
 
I'm actually kind of disappointed, it's such a nice looking style of cards, that a Schultz would have been a nice addition to the collection. And a Lindros, if I could afford him.
 
For anyone who is disappointed that these were not in Series 1, take heart, it's almost a guarantee that they'll find their way into Series 2.

Logic would suggest that they should have thought of that, but this is Upper Deck we're talking about.

Ironically, the checklist was updated this morning and knocked down to 181 cards.
