Visited my local hobby shop haunt, Maverick Sports & Collectables, on saturday afternoon with stalwart (and sometimes in-and-out the hobby) Mr Hartford Love collector Ironman Indy just to chat and survey the cardboard landscape but in reality act more as store repellent. I'll admit I'm not the biggest spender to frequent the shop. I usually satisfy my busting lust to single packs from the shelf and revel vicariously in the busting of other more prolific (or cardboard afflicted) hobbyists. With the anticipation of fresh O-Pee-Chee cardboard still a few days away I opted to slake my thirst by casting away for a solitary pack of last season's UD 1 in hopes of snagging a Bossy/Gretzky Heroes art card. While I didn't pull that little fish I did manage to land me a much more sought after card. An actual Young Gun glaring from the top of the deck. Think I'm gonna need a bigger boat!

Sometimes the little guy wins. A restoration of faith in the hobby? Nah. Just a little luck. Nice to bust a little magic once in a while. Just thought I'd share the experience.
