So UD just sent me an email that my 08/09 Cup Dual Auto Shield was signed by Giroux but then lost by Sbisa and they are not going to make a new one.

Needless to say, I am quite upset with Luca right now.:curse:
 
For replacements, I can see another shield(expired redemption that never got redeemed) or a bunch of Flyers (or whichever team he chooses) cards from the Cup. I remember a while ago when Boll lost the Brule/Boll shield from the Cup and UD ended up sending the guy a bunch of Columbus Cup cards(Voracek,Mason,Brassard, etc and this was when their cards were hot).


*How mad would you be if Sbisa finds it and sends it in after you get your replacements? Then one day someone else will get it as a replacement and you will come across it on Ebay.

They haven't said yet, I guess I'm going to have to work that out with them.

Sorry to hear that, man.

However, ever watching Sbisa forecheck this past season, I have little doubt that he has little to no common sense.
 
Here's a good question to ask...does UD build the cards and then send it to the players? Meaning, do they put both shields into the card, mail it to Giroux, get him to sign it and then send it to Sbisa for him to sign (and subsequently LOSE)?

For something that expensive to make, you'd think they would send the card portion and once those are returned, they could then build the card. If Sbisa loses his portion, oh well, we'll get someone else. Might not be the most cost effective way to do something, but to lose two shields probably isn't that cheap a proposition either.
 
I talked to them today, I told them that I basically only collect Giroux, they took a short list of a few cards of his that I don't actually have (outside of 1/1s) and they told me someone would call me back in a week or two.
 
Why did he have it? Shouldn't it have been in the hands of the UD witness who watched him sign the card. I know a local store who is an UD witness and as far as I know he receives, witness and than sends them back in.
 
His cards are like his career so far, somewhat lost and stuck in transit.... that bites and I hope that UD does something nice to make up for the lack of care.
At least now you know your card wasn't signed in front of a UD rep

They said I would hear back with a replacement package in 1-2 weeks.

After not hearing back from them, I finally had to reach back out to them. They told me they are valuing the card at $700 and they would call me back with a replacement package soon.


$700? Are you kidding me?
