The Artifacts Shanny came from Dave in CT (thanks Dave! :D), the rest from eBay. One cool note is that the Yzerman auto came from HI's Roddy (crankshaft), and in leaving him feedback, I became his 1000th unique feedback! Neato! :D

The Hull and Brodeur came from eBay. The Sakic from Carol (forgot the ID) in exchange for postage stamps. :)

One more deal to talk about - this came from super Modano collector, ModanoFan9 (Carlos). Thanks bud. The Yashin is an inside joke for those who are curious. :)

It is fun to see older cards in maildays. I wasn't in the hobby back in the days, so these older cards are always discoveries for me :)

Some really sharp looking inserts :)

Nice score on the Shanny HG (with his bouf hairdo) and the Yzie auto. :)

My fav here though is that Big Bird auto from the channel specific ITG stuff, those are a beotch to find as Dan noted.
 
Inside joke indeed,

Although not hard to figure out. The Yashin comes as a tribute to Wes' second quote in his signature. We were opening Donruss Preferred packs and he pulled a silver card and was celebrating what he thought was a Hossa RC until he looked closer and noticed.... it was a Yashin instead.

The quote captures the "joy" of the realization.

Incidentally if any of you trade with Wes, feel free to toss in a Yashin base card or something. He has great appreciation for any and all cards of hockey superstar Alexei Yashin. :p

hehehe... I can't wait to send Wes some Yashin cards to call his own, though the retailiatory sausage and pepperoni mailday I'd get in return probably wouldn't be worth it.

Nice shanny's Wes, funny story about the Shanny HG Glossy YG, I had a trade pending for it a while ago and the guy never sent me an email back???? Oh well, Im glad to see that it got into the hands of one of H. I.'s finest, congrats on the sweet haul.
 
It's certainly worth it Cory,

As you go to mail the envelope out with the Yashin inside, just picture the look on Wes' face and the string of profanities that would follow as he becomes the epicenter of the Yashin card universe.

If that isn't the spirit of the season as we move into December, I don't know what is. ;)

98-99 SPx Top Prospects had some of the coolest inserts known to mankind, in my opinion. Good job on grabbing all those Shanny's as well. :)

Danno - You aren't kidding! I can't believe how low some of them sell! They were 1 per case! Even tougher than the jersey cards (1:250 packs)
