Major Announcement - Regarding Upper Deck

this is great to hear. hopefully all manufactures take the cue and learn that a digital photo archive is the next step in security measures.

Great stuff gomaz.

I hope you have a nice high res camera that can capture a lot of cards in one pic at good quality.

I won't go in there with my point and shoot Canon...I will be renting proper equipment.

I have always known that they cared, Steve, as I have met and communicated with both on numerous occasions.

It is my faith in the company that they are employed by, that has been restored.

Fair enough.

YGPM by the way.

Very cool for UD to allow you to do this. It would be also quite cool for UD to share in the expenses since a COLLECTOR is footing the bill to further authenticate their major hockey product. Baby steps, I suppose.

Good luck and hopefully this goes a long way in restoring some of the faith lost in this hobby.

:) Great news Jeremy. This is just one step in the right direction. I hope you enjoy your trip even though you will be working. Just goes to show that one person can help change the hobby.

Im glad to hear that you are doing this Jeremy! Not only you will be busying and working hard taking all the pics but it will be a fun expirience! Seeing every single Cup card would be awesome!

Awesome Jeremy - this is like the Wizard pulling the curtain back and inviting Dorothy to take a look - not the way the story usually goes, but more exciting than usual!

It is a daunting task... one would be tempted to lump single card patches into the 'do not need to scan pile" and just document their colour, but to have true legitimacy, and prevent cries of "but my card is multi-colored" you'll have to do them all. An unenviable task.

Does anyone have a high speed scanner and a conveyor belt??

what a great experience.. i'd love to be able to join too. and no donations needed here. (live in orange county, short drive down)

Great News Jeremy!! Well that is one issue taken care of!! Timing is VERY INTERESTING!! I would say that Upper Deck was forced to listen, which is a credit to this community.. Has my faith been restored, well I can say that I am proud of this community for standing up for itself, but Upper Deck, well I will take a wait and see approach, perhaps next time they will be PRO-ACTIVE AS OPPOSED TO RE-ACTIVE!!

Good on you Jeremy!!

This is great news for the hobby. The amount of time and effort you've put in towards this security issue is appreciated by all of us, and is a key part of restoring the trust of the hobby community.

Jeremy, you're making an awesome difference.
