Ok a question on the rumour I heard

IS Malkin Goverend BY the NEW CBA or the old CBA sinec he was drafted in the last year of the old one ??

Remember he has no NHL contract at all just the Penguins own his rights

As Malkin hadn't signed a contract as of yet. Just like in the case of AO, Malkin is governed by the New CBA. They're bound by the $900,000.00 for a base salary, plus performance bonus' which get paid by the league.

Hope this helps?

He is bound by the new CBA contract-wise. However, there is no transfer agreement between the Russian Federation and the NHL, and Malkin is in a position to make more money if he stays in Russia. It could get sticky, but likely the Pens will be able to work something out.
