Seen this listing on ebay and was wondering if there was any interest or value in these. Bricks - http://www.ebay.ca/itm/140433666347...66347&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

I ask as a friend has a bunch. She doesn't know what to do with these bricks and pieces of floor from the change rooms. They are from the original maple leaf gardens. She also has a few cylinder shaped pieces(pic above) of floor from under the ice itself.

I remember when they tore down the Memorial Aud in Buffalo a few years back. The workers were giving anyone who came up pieces of the building through the fence. Later some of the workers took larger pieces home and put them up on EBay. Seriously, chunks the size of microwaves sold for $50 or less.
The city sold some of the mid-level seats at auction and got several hundred a pair, and I later bought one of the nosebleeds seats for under $300.

I would say there would be interest, but not at the price in the EBay listing...

When the Winnipeg Arena was town down, they sold off seats here for $125-150, or seatbacks, I believe for $75. The rest, they just chucked.

One of the guys I know dumpster dove and got some sweet stuff like the plexiglass team panels from the out of town scoreboard.

After the implosion, they sort of just left the area open and there was an area of fencing where you could go in. When I got there there was still tons to grab (literally), so I took a half brick from the exterior and a couple painted pieces for friends

I think the price is a bit high but what i do know

if it is a serous collector with a big wallet, it could happen

Murray, I wouldn't say they're worth tons of money, but if she has some way to prove that's where they are from, I can contact a couple of the framers I work with and see if they would be interested. I wouldn't mind one as a conversation piece for the store myself -- just depends on the asking price.
