Maple Leafs sign Gunnarsson

I have to admit I am not too familiar with him. The few times I did see him play, I was mildly impressed, but not overly.

Leaf fans, you think it was too much, or about right, or a 'steal?'

It's about right, he's solid but not flashy... Phaneuf is 100x worse without Gunnarsson as his D partner

He is definitely a stabilizing force on the back-end for the Leafs. Think it's a good deal.

With the money being thrown around I say its about right but I think they are all over paid. He is a good solid D and as mentioned by others he is a good fit with Phaneuf. He is a stay at home type player who is a fairly big body. He is not elite but his contract is where it should be according to the rest of the league. As a leaf fan I am happy with the contract.

I agree with Scott's reply. A bit more than he probably get, but what do I care? It's not my money!
