I noticed that the Cup will be with Brad Marchand in Halifax on Monday for Natal day. Does any one know what he is doing with it? Will there be a chance for the public to see it other then the parade? I haven't seen it in years.

Never mind, I found my answer. From the Natal Day webpage:

PLEASE NOTE: We are very excited to have Brad Marchand as our Grand Parade Marshall! Unfortunately, he will not have the Stanley Cup with him on August 1st as part of the Natal Day Parade, nor will be have time with his busy training schedule for a meet and greet prior to, or following, our event. Marchand will be having his own Stanley Cup parade on August 29th . Details on this event will be announced at a later date.

I somehow doubt that the turnout for this individual will rival that of what happened when Crosby came to town with the Cup. This one is not well liked by many here.

We do have a rather large Boston fan base here in Halifax but from what I have heard from everyone that has encountered Marchand, he is an arrogant little .... both on and OFF the ice.

That's the sentiment I've heard from a few folks as well. There's a couple of B's fans here in the office and even they freely admit that if he wasn't on "their" team they'd loathe him nearly as much as they do a Max Lapierre.

Weird, when he played in Providence, he was great. He tossed the game puck up to my kids after a game, and we've run into him a few times before he went into the building before a couple games, and he was always polite, stopped to say hello, and always thanked us for coming to the games. Never had a bad experience with the guy, which is the main reason I started collecting his stuff. We were fans before he even set foot on the ice in Boston.

What jersey were the kids wearing? Before he was even in the league, he was arrogant to Habs fans, even knocked the hat off a 7 year old and refused to sign anything if he didn't take the Habs stuff off.

The father called him a *bleep* and walked away. Wow, what a great athlete!

Worst trade in Halifax Mooseheads history was acquiring Marchand...who ended up being a healthy scratch in the playoffs...of course this was after Halifax declared a Brad Marchand day lol
