Between The Pipes Important Announcement

Dear Collectors:

We are pained to announce an error on the backs of the Mask Men III cards. There are three different colored versions of each Masked Men III card.

The Gold version (10 of each inserted), the Silver version (100 of each inserted) and the Emerald (340 of each inserted).

Unfortunately, the Emerald version has 1/1 on the back of card and this is not the case. There are 340 of each Emerald card inserted.

We apologize profusely for this error, we strive to make error-less products and somehow this mistake slipped through the cracks.

“I guess no one is perfect” said Dr. Brian H. Price, President of In The Game, Inc. “but we sure try to be and this bothers me a great deal. I personally apologize to all collectors for this error.”

uh oh, so these made it out to packout? I can see a lot of confusion and potential problems once the cards hit the market and are sold as 1/1's.

Hope it doesn't cause too many problems with collectors. I'm sure ITG will find the best possible solution.

We are trying to get out in front of this and let everyone know the error before the product is released. Unfortunately, some dealers don' honor our Release Date and some product is already trading.

Thanks to those who understand but this really pisses me off. We have no one to blame but ourselves as the 1/1 designation was on the proof and we simply missed it.

I guess I will just have to develop a thick skin and ride this one through, it is very bothersome as I felt that 2010-11 Between The Pipes was the best yet.

Wait to you see the pulls.

Brian Price

Realistically, there isn't much of a "solution" you could come up with here -- that's thousands of cards. It wouldn't be reasonable to expect them to be replaced or corrected.

It is kind of a big deal, though -- an unfortunate and rather inexcusable mistake. I can already guess what the response would have been if it were UD, but to some extent, ITG deserves slightly less ill will based on a track record of relatively few errors in the past.

The communication is key, and I'm glad it's being addressed so productively!

This is the only forum I am on and I respect how often Dr. Price is on here. I give you credit for owning up to the mistake. I don't collect BTP so I am sure it won't effect me. Heads up everyone... 1/1's for everyone :)

Is ITG going to offer replacements with the correct #'s on them?

I think that would just add to the confusion, then you'd have 1/1 and /340 versions circulating at the same time. Probably better to spread the word as best you can and take the heat for this one.

I'm pretty surprised by this, it's a considerable error and it will take the market a long time to adjust since not everybody will get the word. There will probably be a flood of emails hitting ITG customer service over the weekend.

As far as mistakes go it could be a whole lot worse though. Personally I won't get too excited over an insert set but if for example an entire print run of patch cards had incorrect swatches I'd be rattled.

Props as always for promptly alerting us to the situation Brian

Wow that is a pretty huge mistake. Hopefully people stay away from all the 1/1 BIN's tomorrow. YIKES!!!

Get that notice linked from the front of the ITG page - right on the front.

Hopefully, people clue in when they get 20-30 "1/1's" in their cases....

The correct number is 340.

I will get the page correct, when we found the error we rushed to tell everyone and put it everywhere we could.
