MasterCard Memorial Cup set!

Well, the Kelowna Rockets beat the Brandon Wheat Kings last night 8-3 to win the WHL championship 4-1. With that, the Memorial Cup has been set!

Kelowna Rockets (WHL)
Ottawa 67's (OHL)
London Knights (Host)
Rimouski Oceanic (QMJHL)

This is going to be one sweet tourney. You have the defending champs, the top team in the CHL, and the most exciting player in the CHL, along with those 67's. Going to be very fun to watch! Most people seem to be riding the 67's out when compared with the three other powerhouse teams. Kelowna has tons experience with this being their third straight appearence in the MemCup and of course being the defending champs, not to mention one of the best defense corps in the CHL. London has an amazig lineup and home ice advantage; they are probably the most talent-filled team in the tourney. Rimouski has one of the deadliest offenses in the CHL which includes Sidney Crosby among others.

What are your predictions for the tourney?

London has been on a roll all year. I say Rimouski and London, with London winning it all.
 
Too close to call this year, but London/Rimouski will probably meet in the final though Kelowna has a good shot also
 
I watched Kelowna play over the past few weeks and there is no doubt in my mind that this tourney is theirs to lose. As long as Shea Weber is available to play 30-35 minutes it's really no contest. Their team defence is outstanding and that's what wins out over offence at this time of year. They also have the experience of having won 2 of the past 3 cups.
 
I'm thinking its a Rockets vs Rimouski final. I dunno what will-411 is talking about, rockets 0-3? 67's may surprise a few people. Without Yeomens, the rockets will have to overcome a lot of adversity (Yeomens was their starting goalie). Evil Steve Later and hurting the goalie and such.

I'm talking about my opinion. :) My reasoning was both London and Rimouski had torrid winning streaks this year where both were unstoppable; if it hadn't been for the World Juniors, who knows how many games they would have gone without a loss? Crosby et al I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to, and I can't see a Kilrea led team going 0-3. That left Kelowna with my shot at the 0-3 record.

Of course, someone will tie and screw up all of our predictions... :D

Rod, I don't know if anyone else told you this, but I swear I saw you on the Saturday Sportsnet broadcast right after London scored in OT to win. Did you dye your hair again recently? :)

Cory, that was Definitely me you saw on the Television! I had about 15 calls and lots and lots of people saying they saw me on Sportsnet right after the OT winner. My cousin watched the whole game and said I was on at least 4 times that game... our seats are right by the camera guy, so its easy. I also was on twice at the Monday game (Kelowna-London). They don't put me on when London isn't playing because I don't cheer as hard when another team scores! I've gotten to know the camera guy pretty good now, so expect to see me again in the rest of the London games.....

Yeah, I dyed my hair again and that was DEFINITELY ME!! Glad to see someone recognized me!!

By the way your prediction is looking PERFECT so far! That Ottawa-Kelowna game looked like neither team wanted to win it!!!

That's cool Rod! I guess I'm not crazy after all! lol I only saw you the once however as I was busy doing other things while the game was on and just had it on in the background.

I'll make sure to watch for ya again though!
