Matt Carle traded to Tampa Bay?!?! What am I to do????

Well this just SUCKS! As I am a Carle Collector from the beginning... I thought his fat 4 year contract last year would keep him safe for a while, but I was apparently WRONG about that!!! ... I guess on the flip side the sharks acquired Rob Blake, Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich, so at least the sharks are showing efforts to strengthening the D-line since the departure of Brain Campbell (and now Carle and Rivet)... Oh, well I guess I'm gonna start collecting TB Carle cards now :|

I really think the Sharks made a huge mistake with this deal. Boyle is already 32 and has 6 more years coming on a 40mil contract. He's small and defensively lacking so by the time his speed and his hands are gone, by 35 at the latest I'd say, the Sharks are going to be dealing with a lot of baggage. Matt Carle has a ton of potential and giving up a first rounder to boot? I think the Lightning just got away with highway robbery here.

Boyle isn't that bad defensively. He gets a bad rep because of the crappy team in Tampa the last couple of years. He's much better defensively than Campbell, and even better offensively. Sharks did great IMO.

Look at it this way...you get some diversity in your memorabilia cards if you continue the collection. And since he started as a Shark that can never be taken away from him.
