Meigray Losing Steam?

Folks,

Meigray has been late announcing all the teams in the program this year. So far the only confirmed teams are:

Washington
Colorado
Boston
Nashville
Edmonton
New Jersey
Philadelphia

Barry also said they won't be working with the Sens this year, too bad since those new thirds would have been popular.

Maybe teams are starting to realize they can make more money selling their own sweaters?

I'm pretty disappointed that the Sens aren't going to go with Meigray this season. I knew it was a bad sign when Ottawa started the season without any Meigray tags sewn inside their jerseys.

It will be pretty interesting to see what the pricing will be like on the jerseys.

The Predators are wearing two sets of the new home gold and road white jerseys during the regular season. We are marketing and authenticating Set 1, they are marketing and authenticating Set 2.

The Set 1 jerseys have been tagged.

Sounds to me like Nashville wants out too but since Set 1 was already tagged they let Meigray go forward just with this set. I could be wrong though.

Teams are realizing how much more money they can bring in selling the shirts themselves. The Islanders made 5 grand eaxch on Tavares' rookie jerseys. Why sell all your shirts at a wholesale price when you can charge big money and keep that money yourself? The Sabres made a killing selling jerseys of scrubs via NHL auction for 500 bucks plus their first year away from Meigray that Barry would have gotten under 300 bucks for.

It does suck though, since Meigray's prices are pretty fair, and their customer service and authentication system are the best in the industry.

Basically MGG taught teams how to do their own programs.

And hell look at the Ducks, they do 3 jerseys and about 6 sets a season.

However, one thing that the hobby will demand is some decent authentication and thats something MGG provides and I have seen issues with the Rangers, Isles, Ducks, Habs, Canucks, and so on.

I look at condition at jerseys constantly and the Isles shirt have ZERO i mean NO wear. I was on the glass and although they had the Isles tags they ZERO wear, thus they plan on produce jersey after jersey until the demand dies out.

I think this is a trend and MGG will be back as this will be what the hobby demands.

As for MGG its a good thing they have the Bruins, Caps, and Flyers
