That was the WORST Hat trick I have ever seen... I couldnt stop laughing!
Goal #1- bounced off foot. "kicked in" - had to review it upstairs...
Goal #2- barely crossed the line - had to review it upstairs
Goal #3- Empty netter!
LMAO they shouldn't even allow those as Hat tricks...
I play hockey myself. Those aren't the types of goals you remember. Arguably the worst 3 goal perforamnce ever.

In 20 years, I'm sure Richards will change the story and his first hat trick consisted of a slap shot top shelf, a breakaway deke, and a wrister five-hole in overtime

Thing about Richards is that he's not a "pretty goal" player. He's had a few nice ones this year, but he's a guy that mainly just manufactures goals and makes plays by outworking everybody else. I'd rather have a guy that grinds out 30 goals a season than a guy that will flash and dash his way to a 20 goal output. Mikey's being groomed to be a long-time captain of this team, and I'd say he has a bright future both as a player and as a leader.

Goals are goals. The same thing happened to me in my last HS game. One-handed poke into the net, goalie came out for a race for the puck and missed it, and a breakaway goal when my shot was awful. A hat trick is a hat trick.
