Missed opportunities....

Holy smokes, pack it in with that set buddy. Let it go. :p

Ouch, man. That hits me right in the feelings. :/

Everybody's got their thing - isn't that is what this hobby is about?

No need to slag a brother for collecting a set he loves. :)

Honestly, I enjoy this way more than when I was trying to collect 10-20 different sets/products and never had light at the end of the tunnel. :)

I've been there too, always sucks to hear about auctions of the past, especially those rare pieces we miss out on. But hey, all you can do is keep plugging away and focus on the present, enjoying the awesome cards you've managed to pickup since then.

Never apologize for your own collecting habits. We all have our own unique ways we go about our collections, and that's totally cool in my book.

Personally, I really love your approach to your 02-03 Retro set. It's inspiring to witness, honestly. Picking up those rare pieces 10+ years after the set released, honing in on multiple duplicate copies to add that much more variety to your master set. It's really, really cool.

I've been there, too! Missed out on a jersey for my PC of an old coach that I would have LOVED to have. Oh well. Maybe you could try emailing their customer support to see if they can look up who won?

Also, don't let a party pooper rain on your parade. I think it's very safe to say everyone (except the above member) LOVES seeing your PC and the cards you add to it. Your dedication to what you love is truly remarkable and is beyond admirable. The overwhelming majority of us would never attempt what you are, or would "settle" feeling the collection was good enough. The fact you love the never-ending chase is so great. KEEP IT UP! I ALWAYS look forward to your posts!

Bah. Ignore that guy. You got your groove, follow it.

I've been chasing 13-14 Select golds for the last several years. Got piles of 'em for my troubles, nary the end in sight. But shiny. SO, SO SHINY.

I’m sure you will find them some way. No one else has the dedication to this set like you.

Weird comment considering you're doing nothing different than he (or I) is doing. Collecting bits of cardboard with pictures on them.

I learned early that there are more places to source cards than eBay. Classic, Heritage, Goldin...most auction houses carry these from time to time.

Good luck finding your cards!

I’m just going to say... as a collector we can only watch and check so many sites/ auctions/ shows.. so it’s always great when a fellow forum member tosses out a lead on a card!! I’m taking a second to give a shout out to the following members.. Kieran our resident kariya collector has been a huge help!!! Prime Time Joe Has sent me a few “heads up” which I’m extremely grateful !! James Lacarte has been extremely helpful in the progression of my collection!! To all of you I thank you very much!! Not trying to hijack the thread ... but sending the message..Let’s keep on the look out for cards for fellow members and letting them know if you see them!! Cheers!!! Paul!!

Simply collect to your heart's desire and ENJOY!
That's all I will / would say and with other things in life of more concern.

I sure hope this was an attempt to be funny because it didn't come off like that.I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I gotta be honest, I've stopped looking at past auctions cause it use to drive me insane. When I first started the 2004-05 franchises set I would miss stuff and put me in a foul mood. 9 chances out of 10 those cards are going to come out on the market so you'll get your chance.

Keep your eye out and keep posting
