Upstanding Member,
Let the show begin, believe I eluded to the massive size of this week's mail on Monday (15 mailers and 34 cards on Monday alone), so without further ado, here's the take, and trust me, some bits may get boring, but it will get better!!
Some miscellaneous Oilers Franchise cards from Hama. Just pick these up when the opportunity presents itself. Love the set designs, and a nice memory, after all the Oilers were "my" team growing up.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Lombardi RC from Ryan Johnston on Beckett for my Lombardi RC collection (only need 2 more)
Heatley RC from our own g-force have been trying to pick up most of the Sens RC's so thought I might as well start on Heatley, this is the only one I have so anything else would be welcome.
-----------------------------------------------------------
OK, time to give it a go with the Artifacts fun:
The patch is a brutal white piece, but considering the amount of this I had to buy, I wasn't complaining about a cheap white patch
-----------------------------------------------------------
You'll notice 2 silver auto's above, I was ****ered by one of those 1/1 listers (it was actually 9/50 jersey number, must read descriptions more carefully). Also another crappy white patch, but the piece on the dual is quite nice so that makes up for it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Very nice 3 color Oilers, 2 color Kings dual patch
-----------------------------------------------------------
And then there's the Spezza stuff, some nice pieces I especially like the dual pewter with the stick piece, but, why all 4 players? why? why? why?
-----------------------------------------------------------
And here's some more non-Artifacts stuff:
05-06 UD Generations Jagr/Havlat
-----------------------------------------------------------
03-04 UD Ice Authentics Hossa, Ice Blue Parallel /67 - listing didn't say what version so had to guess and came up right, another run of parallels closed off, then there's a nice Emerald - glad to check that off the list
-----------------------------------------------------------
02-03 Topps Factory Set RC, nice to grab, now if I could only find the OPC??
Priority Signings Spezza and Expo 1/1 Emblem Spezza courtesy of belfour4vezina
-----------------------------------------------------------
02-03 UD Foundations Fuhr (for my old time Oilers collection) and Duguay (for my Canada subset collection), both courtesy of X-Head
03-04 Oh Canada Emblem Brodeur picked up on the Bay for my set (still need 3 jerseys and 5 emblems)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Also managed to pick up a few traders along the way:
Not much to say here, another of the 1/1's from Ultimate that I picked up at a decent price.
I'm a big fan of these auto'd version, so when this fell into my lap at a reasonable price, thought I'd pick it up for the future.
Mr. Spezza is courtesy of g-force and came with the Heatley, these days you can never have too many Spezza RC's
------------------------------------------------------------
And finally a few more for the PC, thought I'd copy some of the others with this week's 3 stars (see I told you the best was saved for last).
This week's third star:
Artifacts Hossa Dual Patch /15, as painful as some of the stuff above is, this was a beautiful pair of patches, and makes picking up this parallel a lot easier to handle.
This week's second star:
Ho-hum, a Spezza Emblem? Take another look, them there bars are Golden? This is the Road to the NHL Emblem Gold Edition from 03-04 Parkhurst Rookie it's 1/1 hand numbered on the back!
And how do I plan to top that, well here's the 1st Star:
03-04 SPGU Team Threads /10! It may not be as rare as that above, but you just can't beat those patches, I nearly died when I saw the scan that Craig (fullbag) had on the Beckett boards, and just had to have this card, when he listed on E-Bay I did just that. Without a doubt one of the nicest looking cards I own.
OK, that's it, shows over folks, go home so we can clean the cinema....Or maybe not, keep your eyes peeled for round 2 of this week's pickups that can't really be classified mail so I'll post it separate shortly.
