One of the nice things about being a long time Linden collector is that people pick up on that. They keep their eye out for items you might want. I guess they do that so they can make a couple of bucks themselves.

Today, I go to the local monthly card show only to see one of the sellers showing off a 'one of a kind' Linden item.

He had told me about this item many times in the past. I really didn't think anything of it. If he actually could get it - maybe I'd be interested. After all, I'm more into cards than the memorabilia side of things.

So he shows me the item...

He claims it to be Trevor Linden's Medicine Hat CableVision Tigers Pee Wee hockey jacket.

Pretty cool I thought.

He said he was selling it for a friend and knew I was a Linden collector so he thought I might like it. OK....it's nice and all....

It's the team logo from that time period.

Here's what the back looks like.

But this is where I started to think this might be the real deal. Trevor (to my knowledge) never wore #16 until he made it into the NHL. He would always wear #9 because he idolized Lanny McDonald (another Medicine Hat Tigers legend). So I started to ask questions.

Where did the seller get it from? Well, he said he bought it from a guy who bought it at a garage sale in Medicine Hat by someone named Lane Linden. That'd be his dad. He's had it for years and was looking to sell it.

I mentioned that it looked pretty neat but I wasn't really a memorabilia guy.

I said the only time I really pick up stuff other than cards is when the price is right. So I asked what the asking price was.

Eighty bucks I was told.

Nah. Not gonna do it for $80. It's cool and all, but I'm not a memorabilia collector. Plus, there really isn't anything proving it was actually his. The best I'd do - $20.

So he called his buddy and told him of the counter offer. A couple moments later - SOLD!

Is it authentic? For twenty bucks...I'll take the risk. It's a cool conversation piece as it is.

If it's real....then this is a doozy of a pickup.

Cool item!! You should send it out to someone in Vancouver and get them to drop it off at Linden's wifes clothing store (he's there all the time) and see if she could find out if it's legit. You might be able to dig up the history of the Molson logo also, to try and pin point the exact year of the the suit. Very unique item for sure, and for $20, you can't go wrong
