Hockey Player Collection Winner,
I'd never considered myself lucky when it comes to wax busting in the past, but I can admit that 2018 has been good to me, and that was reinforced over the past 10 days of pre-Christmas and Boxing Day sales busting.
Last Wednesday I went out searching for the new Parkhurst product, and wound up hitting 3 separate Wal-Marts. Each one had these new Upper Deck Mystery boxes, and I resisted picking one up until the 3rd Wal-Mart I hit, thinking what the hell, let's see what mystery these boxes actually hold.
I busted open the box and found 7 assorted packs, and my 2 mystery cards. The 1st mystery card was a Top Rookies of Auston Matthews. The back of the card says 17/18 MJ Holdings Hockey. So apart from not being a rookie card, and being labeled the year after his RC's, I moved onto my 2nd mystery card, which was MUCH better (ie. Not another Top Rookie!!)
Was generally very surprised with this hit, as it will most likely cover the cost of the box before I even bust any of the packs.
So I start busting the loose packs, pull a common YG, a Crosby Canvas from last year, a Dual Jersey from Team Canada Juniors, which leads me to the final pack from 15/16 UD Series 1. I believe I said to myself before opening the pack, 'hopefully there's at least a YG in here.' Cracked the pack, saw there was a YG, pulled back the cards in front, saw that the position was 'C', and murmured 'that would be cool if it was.....'
BOOM!!!

First McDavid YG I've pulled, although I can't say I busted much of Series 1 that year outside of some blaster boxes. Always pulled Dylan Larkin, never McDavid.
Anyway, onto Boxing Day shopping, where I hit up Pastime Sports. Decided on 3 boxes of 16/17 UD Series 2 Retail, and went on home. With the chance to hit Laine, Marner, Barzal YG's, and Matthews YG Canvas, thought it was the best value to crack.
Late into Box #1 and this popped out:
Unfortunately, the card has a scratch stretching completely across the face of the card, which wasn't on any of the other YG's from the box. :|:|
Feeling slightly bummed out, I rip into Box #2, and about halfway through, this pops out:
INSTANT KARMA!!!! :dance:
Two Laine YG's in 2 boxes, and the 2nd one was in perfectly fine shape. And to top off the box, each one of these was also in the 2nd box. :cuckoo:
So heading into the 3rd box I'm thinking it has to be a dud, so I set my expectations low, cause there is no way I can pull like a Barzal or a..

Down to my final few packs of the 3rd box, I see that there is a Young Guns Canvas in my pack.....

All that fun brings me to today, where I end up at my other local, Wiser's Collectibles in search of some supplies, when I overhear that everything is 25% off. Wisely passing on a tin of The Cup, I choose 2 Hobby Boxes of 14/15 UD Series 1, and 3 12/13 ITG Draft Prospects boxes.
The 2 boxes of 14/15 UD Series 1 yielded not much outside of this YG, which I will not complain about pulling:
Finally, I ripped into Box #1 of the Draft Prospects and pulled this autograph, one of the few SP's in the product.

The 2nd box yielded only sadness outside of a Travis Konecny Gold Base /10.
And lastly, to wonderfully sum up my 10-day box busting heater, this popped out of Box #3:
