My Custom Auto set idea...NEED OPINIONS!!!

Hey guys, I posted this in the Design Shop awhile ago but don't seem to get much input so I figured I'd post my idea here...the set is called International Inscriptions and the idea is to get pictures of the players in their international unis while having the team's country flag/logo as a watermark under where they'll sign...here's a few updated ones that I made last night:

Looks great. Not a huge fan of the font myself. Don't let UD produce them b/c they'll have the wrong countries watermark on players cards.
 
I would maybe suggest that the black background behind the lettering be changed to say... blue for the U.S. players and red for Canada. Maybe a light blue on the U.S. guys that would match the USA logo in the center. Maybe a red to match the red on the Canada logo.
 
Look Great would have loved to have an Ennis one last season could have gotten him no problem ... Buffalo bound this season
 
it would be cool if you can get them to inscribe something under their sig

For Miller, like 2010 Team USA or something like that
 
Great cards and a great idea - beautiful!

One thing if you want them to match exactly - the Olympic committee will not allow any branded logos on the uniforms so the USA swoosh logo and the Team Canada logos are not allowed there - if you want them to lineup perfectly you could use the block USA letters and the Maple Leaf. Not sure if that matters at all - either way they are great looking - congrats!

v3rs3: I might still mess around with the fonts, not sure though and that UD thing just made me burst out laughing because I know EXACTLY what you're talking about (Paul Stastny apparently plays for Canada lol)

norfolk23: That's actually something I have not thought of but that's a great idea! I'll give it a try later tonight.

bfyler: I'm going to try and get these signed myself this year since I'm from the Buffalo area. If you want an Ennis, let me know, I'll see what I can do!

rookjunkie: That's another great idea! I just hope the players are willing to do that.

timber09: I didn't know that but I'll probably just keep the swoosh and the Canada logo just because I like them a bit more lol

Also if anyone has any idea of how/where I'd go about printing these as well as any ideas to put on the back sides of these, feel free to post them here!

Also if anyone wants to see one made of their favorite player, post that here as well!

Steve...I've got one suggestion...I love the "International Inscriptions" title if only because I think you should ask anybody autographing your customs to leave an inscription perse...like Ryan Miller's could be "2010 Olympian" or the WJC guys could sign "2010 WJC" or something like that.
 
it just gave me shivers to think of yzerman or iginla, but it would be really cool to geta brandon sutter made, that would be awesome. the design is really cool, you could put there international exp. on the back side with a head shot. or a water mark of a medal if they won one.
 
They look good and it's a sweet idea. Couple ideas I had for changes were already mentioned, font and changing the black border color. Or maybe not having those borders and having the text be on the card.

But still, those are really cool!

chefjason: LOVE the ideas for the back, I especially love the medal/trophy idea

gratzi: The more I think about it, the more likely it is that I'll change the bottom border color. Not sure if I wanna get rid of them though, I think it would take away from the auto a bit.
 
That's a really nice design. Have you considered putting on Gold, Silver and Bronze for the background color?
 
Is there a way to 'splash' in the background what international events they may have participated in? U-18, U-20, World Championships, etc.? I guess some sort of recognition of what events they played at.

Also, I like the font, but there is some quality about it that makes it seem flat (sorry, my descriptive words are limited!) Maybe an off color shadow on the font?

Great work regardless... just my random thoughts.

Haven't tried it but that might be worth considering, never thought of that!

Hmmm I'll have to mess around with the drop shadows a bit and see what I can do about the flatness. As for splashing the events they've played in, that would get a little tricky so what I've planned on doing is listing that on the back in some form.

Gratzi - Thanks man, these have really come a long way since I started them and they're finally coming together IMO :)
