Well after "I can not remember how many years" that I have been on ebay, I am about to get my first NEG....

Kinda pissed but it's coming just the same.

Sold one of those Japan figure skater autos to a guy in Japan just before Christmas.

Sent it out Express Post with tracking, sig, etc...

Naturally, it has not made it to it's destination. The tracking states it left Canada and made it to the "destination country" within 3 days - and there it sits.... The address used was the one from paypal which is the same one in his ebay account.

Basically 1 month later - tracking can only provide that it is in the destination country. The guy has filed the "item not received". I have been communicating with the fellow and he has all the tracking information.

He is telling me and ebay that he has contacted the Japan postal service and the item is not in Japan??? NOt sure how they can do that??? He is telling me and ebay that for all he know, the item may be in Jamaica....???

This guy is a TOOL! Good deal for him however because he will eventually get his refund and eventaully the card..... I love it when the system works... LOL

Crazy...

You never know. I had that same situation happen to me about 2 weeks ago where I sold a card to a guy in Finland for a whopping $4. Well after about a month went by of him not getting the card he filed with paypal saying never got the card. I was in constant communication with him and told him to look at the date (as it was send 2days after payment) when he received the package. He got the card a few days later and sent me an email saying he was sorry for giving me a hassle but he thought he was being taken. It took the item 37days to get to its destination, he dropped the claim and left positive feedback.

hopefully it all works out for you

Call both ebay and paypal CS. If you have provided tracking, they will hold for up to 4 weeks before doing anything if you are maintaining the communication with them and the buyer.

If he files a negative, they will remove it for you.

I had a similar situation, except the ebay and paypal addresses did not match and the item got held at customs in the US (registered to Germany). I provided tracking to ebay & paypal and discussed it with CS reps from both who agreed the buyer was running a scam. They cancelled the transaction for me and I, luckily, recovered the card from customs.

They will work for you if you give them the chance.

Walt - this one is well off the tracks... from the "where's my f-ing card" emails to Canada Post is lying, the package it is not in Japan.... I already know I will never hear from this TOOL after he receives his refund and then receives his item.

$125 lesson learned. Refund made. He was screaming after 10 days, so time will tell.

And even though there is limited coverage on Registered Mail, That is why when I have sent to Asia, I have sent it Double Registered, which means 1. the recipient must sign for the package and 2. the pink AR card is returned to me showing that the recipient of the card has also signed for it

Just a thought...

I went throgh an ordeal on a very high end trade last year with a prominent member on this board. An Express Mail from Canada to US (me) did not arrive after 1 month. Tracking on both Canada Post & USPS confirmed that the package entered the US, and was never seen again. In this case the items in question were for a trade not a sale - BUT if it had been an Ebay transaction I would have filed an item not received claim with Paypal.

Look I feel bad - but in the end you really have no idea if the buyer ever received this item. The buyer had every right to file an Item not received claim (although he is misguided in saying that the package never reached Japan), the unfortunate fact is that you can not prove that he has received the the item. He is not a tool for filing the claim - although he may be one for the reason he put down.

I am not sure about Paypal's new guidelines - but I know it used to be that you had to filke a claim within 30 days - some people say that it is now 45 days?? You do not say how much the sale was for - but I assume since you sent Express Mail that it is more than a small sale. Personally - I do not care how good the communication is between buyer & seller, if the item is beyond 30 days I am filing a claim to PROTECT MY INTERESTS. I once waited on a purcahse from Canada to US on Ebay and seller communicated very well............ until the time had passed for me to file a claim, and then it ceased.

You may get a neg - or you could just refund the item ( at least you will get your mailing costs back from CP - I believe) - and there will be no neg. The end game is that you will most likely have to refund it in the end anyways.

I'm not 100% sure on this one, but try typing the tracking number into Japan's mail system.

I bought something on ioffer a while back from Canada. I got a tracking number and it only said it made it to ite destination country. I then typed it into our system and got an update.

If nothing else, it's worth a shot.

Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that. I just had a similar thing happen to me with an American buyer. I'm out $63.50 and the card because I foolishly didn't send with tracking. It sucks, because although I'd like to believe that the card never arrived, it's more likely that I just got screwed. Ah well, I guess misery loves company.

i just got my very first neutral against me yesterday !!! The guy leaves a feedback saying
" Great Service " and leaves a mark against me!!!! Doesn't even send me a message prior to do so ( if there was a problem ). I sent him a message asking him WHY !!!!!
so i was pretty torqued about it !!!!

Well he doesn't have his item. Not sure why he's a tool.

That's what I thought as well. The guy paid $125 for the card, I'm assuming paid for tracking as well? If he didn't receive it, why is he a tool or at fault here? It's not his fault Canada Post or Japan Mail didn't deliver it, lost it, or is sitting on it for some unknown reason.

This one has tracking but Canada Post will not refund yet as the card is showing still in transit. It has only been afterall 30 days.

I am not worried about the money... I find it funny how people can defend 5/6 weeks from Canada to USA destinations yet can question my description of this guy when this guy was screeming for his card 10 days after it was sold (Between Christmas and New Years) and the neg threats started rolling out a week later. I guess that speeds up the refund.... LOL

I just sold to Japan via express tracked, too 40 days but he got it, and he left me a neutral on the condition. Pissed me off.

I can only defend what might have happened - however the bold red print above was not mentioned in the first post!!!

The guy didn't get his card. It's been a month. I'd start proceedings for a refund too. I'd do it politley, and with the sellers knowledge though. You should be able to get your cash back from the post office, so who is out anything?

40 days.... hmmm.

He started barking after 10 days but asked him to wait (Christmas and all) and he started back up last week (with the Neg threats) so refunded at 30 days.

CP won't payout insurance yet.... Knowing my luck, it will be delivered before CP pays out....

1st Neg is a sting as never ever had one before...
