I've had a couple requests to post the gaming reviews I do for XBoxAddict.com when they come up, so let's give this thread a go. I'll be happy to answer any followup questions you guys have in regard to the games themselves if I left any stone unturned you're curious about:

Fight Night Champion

Thanks for posting your review Matt, very in depth and interesting read

I have been playing the demo for FN Champion since it came out.

I never played any of its predecessors and I must say it is very addictive.

It's just a 3 round demo (I play as either Tyson or Ali) but I have considered buying the full version based on playing the demo every other day

The controls take a little getting used to and of course being a relatively new "reborn" gamer I don't fare very well

I believe I have won 3 bouts with 2 draws and a lot of losses :|

Not really interested in story mode or developing a boxer I'm more of an arcade pick it up and play kinda of gamer

Whether or not I'll be paying $60 remains to be seen. If I was more adept at fighting a more efficient fight (landing a higher percentage of punches, etc) I could see splurging but if I can't get a hang of it a little better I can't see paying $60 to get the crap beat outta me!

Quite honestly Geoff? Save yourself $50 for now, spend $10 instead and go get Fight Night Round 4. You only have the stick controls to work with (there's no button punching,) but I find it to be the much better arcade-style boxing game of the two. It's worth grabbing and just waiting it out with that game until Champion is cheaper. Fight Night games have always dropped in price after about 6-8 months on the market. I picked up Round 4 for $20 less than 6 months after release. You should be able to reel in Champion for half price or less by the end of the year.

Unfortunately, I can't access XBoxAddict.com at work to link you guys - But my review of NHL 12 was posted yesterday. Fifa's coming soon...at this point, Fifa and NHL to me are running neck and neck for sports game of the year. NHL gets the edge right now, but once EA fixes all the problems with FUT mode, it should be good to go.

I'm enjoying the brevity of your Twitter reviews. ;)

Brevity has never been my strong suit. Twitter forces me into it ;)

I end up feeling a bit of an obligation to be verbose in any gaming reviews, especially since most of the companies are sending these games to us free of charge with the intent of a combination of advertising and critique...

..they spend hundreds of hours developing these games, so I in turn feel obligated to provide them with a more detailed review than 99% of what they end up getting (400-500 words from a lot of places.)

I admit I've received a lot of thanks for the amount of detail from the likes of THQ and EA themselves...it's just you guys that have to suffer/sluice through the details in the end. ;)
