Registered Trader,
OK, here is the story. So my subscription to Beckett has just run out and I am not going to re-up with them. I find the pricing to be off at times. That is just saying the least. Now I was thinking about doing a spreadsheet type format and creating my own price guide. I would have to use final sales from ebay to make this work. Now I know that it would be a daunting task but I may be up for it. With this it would have actual prices that hockey cards sell for. I am not meaning to compete with Insiders Edge at all by the way. I was just thinking that having a big database of sales for cards would help in buying/selling/trading. Plus it could be up to date and not every second month like Beckett has theirs. I could send out a weekly update of sales. It would also be nice to have a decent database of SP sales. Would any of you guys be interested if I do this. I am just throwing the idea out there. What would be a good price point to charge? What would be the best format to do it in? I know that I could not come anywhere close to seeing every completed listing so would doing something like just ITG cards be a good idea. Would I be legally allowed to post all ebay completed listings, Would I have to get approval by hockey card companies to post their sales, etc. If anyone has any other questions or comments or they think I am nuts please let me know.
