Well folks, since I am a couple of cards away from completing the 2007/08 Puck Signings set I have narrowed down my next possible set to one of three choices based on the design of the cards and the strength of the checklists.

1999/00 Upper Deck Retro Inkredible

Checklist Highlights: Maurice Richard, Vladislav Tretiak, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Yzerman, Mario Lemieux, Bobby Orr

There are still a ton of these cards floating around except for the big name short-prints. The checklist is also probably the best ever as far as legends, would be a sweet but PRICEY set to complete especially so long after release. Hard to resist a set with a Rocket Richard auto :)

2007/08 Sweet Shot Ice Signings /100

Checklist Highlights: Patrick Roy, Gordie Howe, Sidney Crosby

This is a short set to complete (37 cards) and with 100 copies of most and 50 copies of the Roy and Howe cards I shouldn't have to worry about crazy short-prints. Solid checklist of players I like, but not many big name players.

2007/08 Ultimate Signatures

Checklist Highlights: Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe, Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Patrick Roy, Mario Lemieux, Martin Brodeur, etc etc.

Probably my second favorite looking set ever, and one of the strongest checklists going. I would LOVE to put this set together more than any other, but with so many big name short-prints (I do have one incoming ) and unlisted short-prints it would be very tough and expensive. Add to that the fact that you rarely ever see any of the big names and when you do they sell for big money, I would need to spend a lot to get the cards I need.

Well folks, let's hear your opinions and votes!

Personally, I'd go for the Ice Signings, the design is too sweet!
The Inkredible set comes 2nd not far behind though...

If I had the expendable income, I would definitely chase the Inkredibles set. Hard signed autos with a checklist that one can only dream of :)

Thanks for the input so far everybody, remember to make suggestions of other nice sets in case I didn't think of them!

Voted for Ice Signings. Thought it would be a nice compliment to the puck signings set.

Well folks, I have reviewed the checklists again and decided to take on the 2007/08 Ultimate Signatures as my next set. There are only 56 cards in the set including the 12 unlisted short-prints so it isn't a large set and the design is just too nice for me to pass up. I also wanted to take a break from the Sweet Shot cards and branch into another product I like.

So with that said, I am now looking for any and all Ultimate Signatures!

Thanks for the input :)

Although you have already made your decision, I would do the Inkredible set (if I had the money to do it). How many other sets out there have Gretzky, Orr, and the Rocket?

Seriously, it can't be many. Century Legends Epic Signatures maybe? Anything else?

If you're up for the challenge (aka have a lot of money to spend), I'd go with Inkredibles. I love the simplicity of the design and the player selection as well.

2nd would be Ultimate just because I think you've had enough of 07-08 Sweet Shot :D

*edit*

missed your last post. Good choice. I like the Ultimate that year. I think it's a nice and simple design that will stand the test of time. There's also good player selection.

Inkredibles would make a nice side-project maybe, just pull in a few here and there without dedicating to it completely. I am starting a new job on Tuesday so I will have more money for my hobby, part of the reason I decided to take on the Ultimate Signatures :)

I love the Ulti set, great choice. Just another reason for me not to start it ;)
I have some to help if needed (Gaborik, Toews, Price)

Watch out, I believe the Iginla from that Ultimate set is a tough one to find as well.
