Well folks, It looks like its my turn to take a break from this hobby for awhile. I'm finding lately that I just don't have the time that I once had. That coupled with being frustrated at not being able to complete sets because of outrageous SPs (i.e. Yzerman Series 2 jerseys selling for upwards of $150), and everyone looking to buy cards for dirt cheap. I just find I'm not getting anywhere and don't have the patience. I'm not going to abbandon my entire collection, but some things are going to go (including my Series 1 and Series 2 jerseys, and a couple others). I'll make a post on the buy/sell boards eventually and hope to use that money to aquire some cards for sets I'm not giving up on. I'll probably still monitor the boards from time to time and add my $0.02 + exchange, and perhaps make the odd deal. I most likely won't buy any boxes until 06/07 UD1 comes around, unless something just blows me away. It's been fun and I definately wouldn't have the collection that I have if it weren't for all the great members I've made deals with. Surpasing 100+ feedback not long ago was something I couldn't have imagined when feedback was 1st introduced, but here I am at 103. For those members that I have recently completed deals with, not to worry, I have and will send your cards out. Thank you everyone Jon

A "summer off the wagon" can do wonders, planning on doing that myself, I know the feeling of how not gaining any ground on the collection can be numbing...

Jon aka X-Head hate to see ya take a break but def. understand. I got burned out on the hobby long ago so it does not shock me to read posts like yours. If it was not for in person autographs I would not be here. The fun of collecting use to be so much fun but like you said trying to complete sets that have a 150.00 dollar or more gets to be kind of old after awhile. Take some time off and we will welcome you back with open arms, you a very valuable member in here, plus who else will keep the bored thread going!!!! jason
 
Well, as another hardcore addict it's sad to see you leave - even if it's only for a little while. I look forward to your return, Jon.
 
Stay! We'll talk about how we fantasize Beckett going out of business, or the NHL being run by human beings instead of ghouls as they give everyone a license to make cards! :eek:

Thanx for your support guys. All the things you have mentioned are other reasons for me to take a break. I find it somewhat humourous that this weekend I've spent more time on this site than I have in a long time, and yet I choose now to cut back. But looking into the coming weeks things are just going to get busier and busier. And no worries Jason, I will keep "The Bored Thread" alive, I'm not going to disappear altogether.
