Upstanding Member,
Following in the footsteps of Frendo, bamlinden, and gomaz.....I have put together my Top 25 PC pickups....which are mostly Gaborik (of course).
Here goes...in random order:
25A
My only real big CUP card I got this year. Numbered 10/10 (Gaborik's number) and some awesome patches and an auto. Beauty!

25B
Just a cool card and cool idea

24
Cool piece of stick, and the gold auto looks nice on it!

23
Even though the Stick and Skate pieces are reversed on the Gaborik version, still a beauty card and concept.

22
Big puck piece with logo, autograph, and only 5 exist. So definitely a card to include.

21
Four Rangers Patches in booklet form. Lots of red, white, and blue!

20
Another patches booklet. This time with autos and only 5 exist!

19
Autographed Patch and only 3 exist! And it completed a puzzle.

18
Patch card #/9, but it has two sweet patches from the Wild 2004 All-Star Game chest patch they wore on their 2003-04 season jerseys.

17
On to 1/1 cards. A few UM12 Gaboriks I was lucky enough to acquire:
UM12 Made in Canada Tag and Auto 1/1

16
UM12 Sketch Memo 1/1 with Artwork drawn right on the card. And the back of card is autographed by the artist Mike James. Nice!

15
A nice UM12 Journey Dual Patch and Auto 1/1 card. Always loved the ITG Ultimate Journey patch cards. The auto is an added bonus!

14
I had a Made To Order card done featuring Marian Gaborik and the goalie he scored his first NHL goal against, Guy Hebert of the Mighty Ducks. It occurred on October 6, 2000 at Anaheim. Not only was it Gaborik's first ever NHL goal, it was the Minnesota Wild franchise's first ever goal scored.
So here it is, my tribute to Marian Gaborik and the Minnesota Wild's first ever goal.
ITG Ultimate 12 Dual Player Made To Order Guy Hebert/Marian Gaborik 1/1

Other 1/1 cards...
13
A real nice Laundry Tag 1/1 card.

12
Easy deal with big pressure (Kevin) here on HI. Great that HI members come to me first for nice Gaborik cards. I appreciate that!

11
Two 1/1 cards from HI member linkager007 (Mike). He seems to pull good Gaborik cards all the time. He pulled another one a couple years ago and dealt it to me (send that luck to me, bud!
).
This Prime base auto 1/1. Have to like a hard-signed 1/1 card!

10
I've picked up a lot of these 1/1 LETTER cards, so I'll only show the one from Mike as an example... this Prime Genuine Letters "B" from Gaborik's nameplate.

9
This next card was just sent to me as a "Gift" from HI member NJDEVILS30 (Andrew). Another reason why HI is the greatest...the members here are just plain great people. Pay it forward! Andrew, I owe you, bud!
UM11 Spring Expo Superbox Redemption card 1/1

8
An older BAP UM3 1/1 card. Sure miss the full uniform photos!

7
Another ITG Ultimate 1/1...this one an UM11 Stick & Jersey Auto.

6
A nice Superlative 1/1 Letter "G"

5
From eBay ITG powerhouse North-of-7, a card from old pal Murray's Gaborik collection. Murray got out of the hobby and sold most of his really high-end Gaborik collection to North-of-7. I have slowly been picking these Gaborik cards up from them on eBay when the prices are, what I think, in the ballpark. This is one I got this year.
An old UM6 Made To Order card that Murray had made:

4
Another North-of-7 and Murray's old Gaborik collection pickup. A 2009 Spring Expo UM8 Redemption card. The 1/1 Gold 6-piece version of Gaborik with 6 memorabilia pieces. Stunning in person!

3
Another North-of-7 and Murray's old Gaborik collection pickup. I collect the whole ITG Ultimate Stick Rack and Fantastick silver subsets because I just love the looks of the cards with huge stick pieces. Gaborik was only in the UM9 Stick Rack subset. My only Gold 1/1 version had to be this Gaborik version. I had met Murray in Toronto at the Expo the year UM9 was released and had seen the card in person when he acquired it right there at the Expo. It was beautiful and I longed to have it someday. Plus I know where the stick actually came from...wink wink.
So I had to get it when it popped up on a North-of-7 eBay auction. And I did.

Last two cards are non-Gaborik cards. These came in an easy trade with new HI member CUPCOLLECTOR8 (Anthony). I say easy, but it was really hard for me to give up the cards I gave up. But hey, sometimes you just have to do it!
2
I actually traded for three ITG Ultimate 8 Made To Order cards, but I dealt one away to another HI member. So here are the two I kept (both are in process of being made with ITG).

I leave this one for last, as it has a story. Back when I was at the Toronto Expo in around 2006, I had a talk with Dr. Price of ITG. He came to me in one of the card aisles to discuss a card idea. The idea was .... the concept of having a Made To Order card made with the collector included on the card. It would be a card that had your favorite player on it with a piece of memorabilia, plus a photo of the collector with their name on it, too. I told Dr. Price that it would have to be limited because once the redemption card was made, it wouldn't have any real $$ market value. Would you buy a card with some other collector's photo on it? Would you want a card with my ugly mug on it? Probably not. But a die-hard player collector would probably love it and never sell it anyway.
So was surprised and happy, when in the next ITG Ultimate product (UM8), Dr. Price introduced this new concept we talked about and called it a Made To Order "Hero" card. Limited to 5 made, a collector can send it in and have his photo and name on a trading card along with their favorite player and a memorabilia piece. These "Hero" Made To Order cards were also in ITG Ultimate 9 (only 3 cards in that product). I've been trying to get one for years. Have only seen a couple of the UM8 versions (have never seen an UM9 version), but they were always too high priced. Anthony had one and we traded.
So soon, I will have a Made To Order 1/1 card with me on it! Of course, I'm going to be on it with Wayne Gretzky........I mean Marian Gaborik! Duh!

So that's my attempt at my Top 25 cards I've picked up in 2013. Could have added more, but wanted to stay at 25 to keep with the format of these threads.
Hope everyone enjoyed taking a peek at these....and I wish everyone a HAPPY Hobby Collecting 2014!!!
And remember....pay it forward. What this hobby is all about.
