As we near the end of 2025, I will reflect back on a great year for card pickups. In no particular order, I present what I consider my top cards.

First, a few nice Vezina cards that found their way into my collection:

Then...I have always had massive love for this subset, so I had to include some SPGU Supreme cards:

Next is a card for my Gump collection:

Then a card I got when Mr. Wheeler had a big sale, and he actually took my even lower offer. Rare for him to do.

Next up is a super hard to find 1/1 card from ITG:

Sticking with Dr. Price, these two cards fit perfectly with my love of great looking jumbo patches:

I included this card due to the connection with the Wild and my son going through cancer 10 years ago. Plus, the battle to acquire it was nothing short of mayhem. 😄

Back to President's Choice...these two cards take me back to my player collection days. I still have fondness for Marian Gaborik, who was the Wild's first draft choice and scored the very first goal in their history. When I found out Dr. Price had a rookie Nike stick of Gabby, I had to jump on these beauties for sentimental reasons! ♥️

Another President's Choice card that I actually pulled from a box in the new 7th Edition Hockey product. Bill Cook was the original NY Ranger player and scored the franchise's first ever goal.

Then this side deal I made to get a beauty 1/1 jumbo patch of one of my favorite North Stars players...Dino Ciccarelli. Love the game used North Stars memorabilia cards!

And I'll end with a non-hockey card, but probably my favorite pickup of the year. I am a huge horse race aficionado and love the 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat. Dr. Price has had Secretariat memorabilia cards dating back to his Sportkings days featuring race worn silks of jockey Ron Turcotte while aboard Secretariat. I have picked up a lot of them over the years. He also had 1977 Triple Crown Winner Seattle Slew race worn maiden silks worn by jockey Jean Cruguet. An absolutely astonishing card from President's Choice. Features the whole bow tie from Cruguet's maiden silks while aboard Seattle Slew. Just a WOW card! ♥️♥️♥️

Hope you enjoyed the show! I wish all of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Wishing that all of your card collections find some of those white whales that you have been chasing. (y)

Wow Curt, 2025 looks like an awesome year for your collection. Since you have the Cook and Gaborik cards you should try for a card with each of the first scorers from each team. The Seattle Slew card is very cool. So many other great patches like having to pick between two McDavid's lol and of course some awesome Vezina cards. Thanks for the show and all the best in 2026.

"First scorers from each team"

Now that is something I never thought about. Could be pretty hard with those real old teams. :ROFLMAO: Maybe not. Did they even keep those stats for the really old ones?

I'll think about it. Great thought, Paul! (y)

Happy New Year P-3 - during my Navy days.webp
