At this point, I dont think I will ever consider buying a UD Product that has a potential for a redemption card unless I just plan to sell the redemption after I would get it.
Last year, I pulled one of my finest pieces yet, but of course, it was a redemption. SP Authentic Lebron/Jordan Dual auto, I believe #/25. I got online, entered it it and that was that. But I have waited....and waited...and waited....still nothing. I called UD about 6-7 months ago and got nowhere. A few months ago, nowhere. According to my account, there are 5-7 autos I entered that do not show up on my account, INCLUDING THE LEBRON/JORDAN.
I finally made contact with Chris Carlin about this situation. They dont have any info on ANY of the AUTOGRAPHED redemptions I entered, but thay have info on ALL of the UNSIGNED redemption cards I entered. Very odd. I was told that UD Couldnt do anything for me unless I could find the scratched off redemption card from a year ago.
Maybe I am a fool, maybe I am naive, but I didnt imagine that I would have to keep the redemption cards for these things on my mantle for 12 months. I trusted that UD would handle this the right way. Instead, I was confronted and essentially told "tough luck." This isnt right. I shouldnt have to follow after UD so that they will honor the redemptions they put into their product. If they cant produce an actual auto, they should find something else to put in the product instead. I am tired of this BS and I have had it.
I hope someone from UD reads this, and I hope that I am not crossing any lines TOO far, but UPPER DECK'S CUSTOMER SERVICE ****S! Come on now. Lets get real! People dump hundreds and thousands of dollars into their product, waiting to pull the autographs of the biggest stars, only to get that ****ed blank card with the scratch off sticker. I am done with it. I will NEVER buy a UD Product that features redemptions again. I just dont think its worth it anymore. Upper Deck has let me down for the last time with their redemptions, but I am sure they will find a new way to let me down again...leave the auto out of my box altogether, a whole box full of base cards, bent game used cards...I can see them all happening. How about inserting autograph cards with no signatures on them. Whats next Upper Deck, whats next?
Maybe I should go dig through the 300 boxes from my move to find the redemption card, but even then, I am sure the card would get "lost in the mail."
