The Gaborik RC was a final throw-in to the deal -- one small addition to my Gaborik rookie collection.

The final items from this ebay seller (the last three pictures' worth) are two Cody Goloubef cards. The second card is from a special set not available in regular UD packs. These cards were issued in three-card packs, provided to dealers by GTS and Universal distribution. There are also gold parallels, inserted at 1:4 packs.

12-13 Fleer Retro Rookie Sensation Autographs Cody Goloubef
Here are two more Goloubef rookie-year cards, purchased together on ebay.
A trend should be quite obvious with the five Goloubef cards immediately preceding this sentence. Apparently, only one picture of Cody Goloubef was ever taken! The same picture was also used in SP Game Used, Titanium, Limited, and Certified. New pictures are indeed available in SPx and several Rookie Anthology subsets.

12-13 Fleer Retro Rookie Sensation Autographs J.T. Brown
Here's a J.T. Brown autograph, from the same Fleer Retro insert set as the Goloubef above. These are the only two cards of TBL/CBJ rookies in the entire Fleer Retro product. They are insert cards, so they won't count as RCs, but I thought they were interesting enough to pick up (especially for just a couple dollars each).
Goloubef was seeded in Group A (1:2142 packs), and was the only player in that group. Brown was seeded in Group C (1:28 packs), along with 16 other players. Doing the math, that means that there are almost 5X as many copies of the Brown card as there are of the Goloubef card.
One final note on these players: although Brown and Goloubef both have live signatures in SPx, they appear to be short printed redemptions in the main SP Authentic set.
The rest of the post will focus on a bunch of new Tim Thomas additions, including one with a nice guest star!

I acquired the Black 1/1 version of this card almost a year ago, but it took me until now to find the Gold #/100 version. I now have the "rainbow" of three cards completed, along with the base version.

Nothing special here -- just another Artifacts parallel. The card has a black jersey swatch, and a patch swatch that is mostly black with a single white spike. I have no idea what part of the jersey it may have came from.

This shiny parallel -- from a product I seem to like a lot more than most people -- is limited to just 50 copies. I acquired this card from the same ebay seller as the Goloubef Ice RC.

11-12 Panini Limited Crease Cleaners Autographs Tim Thomas (46/49)
Here is the first of several Tim Thomas autographs in this mail post. I thought this was one of the better insert set designs from the 2011-12 season, although like everything else from Panini Limited, it was bogged down in a multitude of meaningless parallels. This version, however, is the key item in the batch -- the version with the autograph over the goal crease.

11-12 Titanium Game-Worn Gear Autographs Tim Thomas (06/25)
This card came surprisingly cheap for a Tim Thomas autograph card, especially for one limited to only 25 copies, and also adorned with a jersey swatch.
The swatch is black. I still like the Titanium design.

12-13 Panini Prime Prime Combos Patch Tim Thomas / Tuukka Rask (10/25)
My first of the dual Prime Combos Thomas / Rask cards is the toughest version of the three! On this version, the Prime logo is printed in silver holofoil.
The swatch cut-outs spell the word "BEAN" -- an ode to Boston's well-known "Beantown" nickname. The swatches:
First Thomas: white jersey, yellow patch, white patch, black patch.
Second Thomas: black patch.
First Rask: yellow patch, black patch, white patch, black jersey.
Second Rask: yellow patch.
Getting two very good multi-color swatches helps me enjoy this card quite a bit.

10-11 Zenith Z-Team White Hot Tim Thomas (24/25)
Zenith was one of the final Panini sets of their inaugural hockey season, and it was a set that made heavy use of Dufex. Tim Thomas had White Hot #/25 parallels in two different sets (base and Z-Team), both featuring blue Dufex treatment. I haven't yet acquired the base version, but I was really happy to get the Z-Team version into my collection. These are not at all easy to find, and they won't get any easier over time.
The complete Z-Team rainbow includes the base version, the red hot version, and for an extra, an expo promo limited to just five copies or less.

12-13 SP Game Used Authentic Fabrics Fives #AF5-BOS (UDC115674)

Most of the multi-jersey cards from 2012-13 SP Game Used are proving quite a bit easier to find than in years past. The cards are not serial numbered, and are printed in higher quantities -- perhaps several times higher. A few months ago, I picked up a six jersey card, featuring members of the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins (including Tim Thomas). Adding to that card is this one -- a five-jersey card (all black swatches) featuring five Boston Bruins members. The odds on the Authentic Fabrics Fives jersey set are 1:72 packs. There is also a patch version, limited to just 9 copies.
Just a question: if you were a Boston Bruins fan and pulled this card in 2013, would you really be thrilled to see four current, cup-contending, popular players -- stuck on the same card with a defector? I can't comprehend why Upper Deck wouldn't use Rask instead.

11-12 Between The Pipes Cross-Canada Tour Jersey (1/1)

Here is another pseudo-unofficial 1/1 card from the ITG Cross-Canada Tour series. This Tim Thomas card uses the 11-12 Between The Pipes design, and features an awesome three-color jersey swatch (yellow jersey, a large black seam, and white jersey).
There is absolutely no way of knowing how many different Cross-Canada Tour cards were produced, since the tour stops and checklists remain unpublished. I now own four of these types of cards from 11-12 BTP, including one from Maverick Sports & Collectables, one from Beyond The Pond, and one from Hobby Insider's pack wars event.

11-12 Dominion Pen Pals Autographs Tim Thomas / Ray Bourque (28/50)
My favorite new Tim Thomas card in the post is my featured item -- a dual autograph with Ray Bourque! I love the design of this set, along with many from Dominion. It's clean and classy, and the signatures really stand out.
Tim Thomas has shared the cardboard with several odd choices in players over the years, but never before on a dual-player card with one of Boston's most famous defensemen. I've always liked Ray Bourque, first watching him as he played on a Bruins team with Sergei Samsonov in the late 90s, and also after learning a relative serviced Bourque's home for a billiards table installation. I received a personally-signed item from that encounter, so this is actually my second Bourque autograph. For me, it's a meaningful pairing for my biggest goalie collection, and a really nice card to close the post with.

** Due to the computer problems I've been having, and how busy I've been over the past few months, I have not been able to keep my wantlists/tradelists accurate on my website. As a result, I haven't been putting away many of the cards I've received. I probably have ten different stacks of cards sitting around on my desks, with all of them meaning different things, and slated to end up in different places. So, my card web pages are almost all out-of-date.
** The oversized Samsonov mail post is coming soon -- within a few weeks, I hope. I have three high-priority Samsonov items on their way, including one from a Hobby Insider trade I just mailed out today.
