He might be the worst manager in baseball. He has no concept of how to use a bullpen.

I am sick of the play the scrub team and give the starters the day off game.
Seriously he is the reason the Brewers are freefalling.

The manager is not the problem..

The players are wilting in the face of the race.

The Loss of Ace Ben sheets hasnt helped much either!

Youth is causing the downturn but.. youth may carry it thru!

The manager is the problem, he doesnt know when to remove a pitcher. Today for example, he let Linbrink hit, of course he strikes out in the 7 instead of pinch hitting for him and bringing in Turnbow to get the hold, then to Cordero.

Linebrink gives up two runs to start 8th, Turnbow pitches through the heart of the order in the ninth and doesnt give up a run. That is a game they should have one. Yost was outmangaged buy the Reds. He didnt make the moves he should have, he was reacting to what the reds sent up to the plate. Plain and simple he should take the credit for the loss.

And for Youth, dont buy it, you have Fielder who is in the MVP race, Braun is probably the ROY and Hardy is continuing to produce, as is Cory Hart.

When your starting pitching isn't performing - it carries on through the rest of the lineup. You can't keep running the bullpen out there night after night if the starters can't take you to the 7th on a regular basis. No Sheets - Capuano, Bush and Suppan have not pitched like they did in the first half.

On the post you mentioned Linebrink pitching into the 8th that night, had Turnbow pitched the last couple of nights or 2/3 or 3/4? There are just some days that guys are going to be unavailable. Doug Melvin has likely been worried about the pitching for much longer than you have, because they have outperformed any expectation there may have been

If you want nominees for worst managers, I would think Joe Maddon, Buddy Bell and John Gibbons - possibly Clint Hurdle - would be at the top of the list

I don't see the Brewers often but from what I know he took over a team that was struggling and has a made a winner out of them. I may feel a little different if I actually saw the games but just going by box scores and their position in the rankings I would think he doing a pretty good job.

It's not Yost's problem if the starter can't even get to the 5th - and other than Gallardo, and that was debatable after he got lit up like a Christmas tree

Obviously you dont watch alot of Brewer games. The problem is he tries to stretch the pitchers too long. The will have an outing when they go 6 strong, then get in a little trouble and he tries to let them work out of it every time, and every time they give up 4 or 5 runs.

Letting them work it out is probably better then pulling them and letting them dwell. He is giving them a crash course in the rough times of being a MLBer.

There is a reason a popular sign at Miller Park is

Yost is Toast

Funny when Bill Schroeder the Brewers announcer questions moves by Yost, my favorite quote

I'm not sure what Ned is thinking here but I cant imagine this turning out well
for the Crew
