Need help identifying a theo fleury card from topps

Hello. I have had this card since 2004 (I think I pulled it from a pack of 03-04, or 02-03 Topps). It's a Theo Fleury card from 90-91 OPC with a stamp on it that says "Vintage Card Topps Fan Favourites 2003" on it. Anyone know what the deal is with these cards? Anyone else have any they'd like to share with us? Thanks for reading.

I have no idea what the story is on those but if its available I'd like to trade for it

sounds like it might be sort of a buyback inserted into packs?

Yup, they are indeed buybacks. I cannot remember which year they are from, but the buybacks were simply stamped with the Topps fan favorite impression with no other indication that the card was a buyback!

I found a Fleury card like that from a card show a few years ago and traded it to my friend who collects Fleury cards. I don't know if it was the same card or another card.

I have a few Gretzky cards like that. Other than Fleury and Gretzky I haven't seen any other players.

They were from 2003-04 Topps and OPC packs (Not issued in the traded series). I know at the time of release Topps DID NOT put out a checklist of what Vintage Buybacks were offered. I saw a late 1960's Gordie Howe on Ebay once so they just didn't do the over produced years of late 80's early 90s. I myself have had three different Dionnes and a handfull of other players.

I saw a gretzky highlight card from 89/90 OPC or TOPPS once. All there was to it was this little embossed stamp. I can't remember what it sold for, but it was under $20.
