…so, unlike 06-07, 15-16, & 16-17, they aren’t leaving this up to the collectors. The Kenny’s all started with patch swaps of generally plain to fantastic patches of star rookies. It was harshest with Crosby’s since a lot of collectors moved them and upgraded plain to “better” patches. A database was created with photos of the /99 rookie set when they came out in the market (HI, facebook, ebay, beckett, etc). The database was then able to prove certain cards were changed from plain to different patches. I think Ovie’s rc were also tracked. I think McDavids and Matthews were also recorded somewhere by a collector, but can’t confirm.Well, UD is combatting Patch Swapping, starting in The Cup this year.
