I sold a couple items on ebay and the buyers paid for expresspost shipping. I have trouble getting to the mail because I work the same hours as the post office so most of the time I get me wife to mail the items. Due to a miscommunication or something my wife sent the items regular mail :( My question is should I refund the extra postage before they arrive or wait for the buyer to contact me? I am nervous refunding the money first because then I am leaving myself wide open for someone to claim that the item didn't arrive. However I don't want the buyer to think that I am charging for for expresspost and then shipping regular postage. I am nervous that they might leave me a neg feedback without contacting me about it.

I will be giving them a full postage refund because of the error, what is your opinon on what I should do? Contact them , go a head and refund or wait until they contact me and then I know the item has arrived.

i think email him right away to let him know about the mixup

Tell him you will refund the entire S/H amount once he receives it

If you wait to let him know he may get a little anxious and neg you when it does arrive

If you refund right away he has no reason to tell you it arrived and may be spiteful and say he didn't get it and neg you / do a chargeback etc.

Not likely but possible

Be up front and apologize and he should be understanding

Good luck with it!

I sent him an email with a vague message. He just contacted me telling me that the item arrived and that he is pleased with the card. I replied to him and told him that I would be refunding his shipping charges.
