The hobby store here in town that I have constantly visited the last few years have in some trilogy hockey at 20 bucks a pack! I really liked viewing your breaks and like the design of these, and the guy there who knows me pretty well said that three packs had been bought, and all that was pulled was 2 rc's and 1 no name autograph!

Anyways I told him to lay the rest of the box aside for myself, how many packs should I buy out of that box set aside for me?

I'd say none but I stopped buying boxes in part because of last year's Trilogy. Bitter? Nah... ;)

They are just like Lays potato chips. Just can't have one. Honestly if you like them buy a couple and see how it goes from there. Or you can buy some Racing........

The price is right no doubt. So you have to decide whether or not you want to take the risk. If you do not plan on buying the rest of the box then don't open them one at a time because you may end up buying the rest just to get the box hit! It's happened to me many times :)

Meh. The auto and both rookies are gone? I dunno if I'd go anywhere near that box, although I'm not sure what the break down is either. If it's an auto/RC or GU per pack, I don't think I'd want to end up with a Lubomir Visnosky jersey card for my $20. Maybe bust a pack or two, and see what happens. If the RC's were Malkin and Staal, and the Auto was the Ice Script, I can pretty much say that there prolly ain't much left in the box...

But then again, what the heck do I know? I never bust wax anyway...LOL

Good luck with whatever you decide...

Run. Run fast.

This year's Trilogy is leaner than previous incarnations. The disparity between good boxes and bad is wider than ever. The average break is horrid. Let's say you open them 6 packs at $20 each. You pay $120 for about...$50 worth of cards you could snag on the 'Bay for half that. If you're lucky, you hit something worthwhile and you come close to breaking even. If you're very, very, very lucky, you pull something great and may even make a few bucks on your rip.

I don't find it an enjoyable product. Had far more fun busting MVP at $50/box than Trilogy at $175/box.

Okay I guess i will give them a call and tell them to put them back up on the shelf for others, what else is good to get in hockey?

I've broken 2 boxes of Trilo-crap and I seem to have bad luck with it. It is a HUGE hit or miss with Trilogy at market prices. But if you get them at good prices and want a rush, go for it. However, Artifacts was more fun for 06-07.

I'm waiting for SPx and SPA. SPx will be a tough break as well - but at least all the cards look cool. The Base Trilogy cards are really bland IMO.

Look at what last year's and 03-04 Trilogy garbage sells for, and steer clear.

Same goes for SPGU, Artifacts, Beehive, and the rest of the gimmicky UD crap that starts off worthless and gets worse over time. Stick with UD, SPx, SPA, and The Cup. Not even Ultimate/Premier is worthwhile anymore.
