Need some jersey advice

Well, along with death and taxes, the inevitable has FINALLY happened...a sportscard show in Chicago was able to get some good hockey autograph guests. Among them is Mr. Hockey himself, and I want to get his 'graph on a Red Wings sweater. I have never done this before, so my question is two fold:

1. Does anyone have any advice on where I can purchase a Detroit sweater that is the same look as the ones he would have worn? I quickly Google'd this, and I didn't see any noticable variation between todays jersey vs. the ones of yesteryear, but what do I know?

2. Where is the best place to have him put his graph? The number, or on the front of the jersey by the emblem? Somewhere else?

The auto charge is pretty steep, $300, so I want to make sure that I make it count. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Get a Mitchell & Ness vintage jersey. Have him sign it on the number 9 on back. Try to get a road jersey, so the number will be white/beige. The autograph will stand out better.

but if you really really want it, yea go with the Mitchell and Ness jersey, like the one from Legends Classic

Guys - Thanks for the info, I went with the Mitchell Ness away jersey. Yeah, $300 is by FAR the most I have considered paying for an auto, but I figured it would be my only chance to get him in person. Brian, The show is at the Rosemont from 6/9 - 6/11 - come on down ! Mssr. Hockey is appearing on Sunday, but the other guests look pretty solid, too....as long as you like Reggie Bush, Matt Leinhart and assorted Chicago athletes.
